The individual Draw on the average household is nothing. It’s the cumulative draw on an already stressed grid. My 4xe stage one charger is 720watts I believe. That’s nothing. However if you add 10s of 1000s of them to the grid it adds up.

They can push all they want, but until there is infrastructure improvements to most average households as well as the power grid, they seem to be putting the cart before the horse.
There may be some validity to the grid arguments (Californians especially) but I would hardly call it a widespread problem.

The comments on the average household being insufficient have been widely disproven. Most electric vehicle chargers for at home pull less wattage than your average water heater, electric furnace, or electric oven/stove. The average house can handle a charge station just fine. If you can afford to buy a 20k electric Toyota you can likely spring for a 500$ level 2 charger. Hell, you can buy one from Home Depot!

Up north here in Beautiful BC, if I convert it, usd gallons we pay $6.42. ( gasoline ) So I see an electric with a 2000 mile range. Just so I can get 500 miles of crawling in the mountains. I'll probably have a solar panel on the roof rack. Some fatty 40's to handle the torque. And ..... you know what ? Fudge It !!! I'm gonna delete this ecodiesel since my warranty will be up. Get way better fuel mileage and a ton more power. I'll just put an exhaust that captures the rollin coal out of the exhaust.
