Getting ready for my 64k km drivetrain service on my 2021 JTR (25k kms on my 3rd transmission and second engine) and I’m rolling around under the truck and I see this 22mm nut on the bottom back side of the transfer case. It’s not the drain plug and I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never seen it till now. Must be my older age making me sharper.
ALSO, I noticed black soot on an exhaust joint after the cat passenger side and before the first muffler. The only thing I can think of is a result of the second engine having had 12L of oil in it from the dealership for the first 1560k kms before I dumped it on my first oil change and discovered the screw up and intake mess.
All the intake parts had to come off and get cleaned as the oil was being sucked up through the PCV but I was told the oil travel hadn’t made it to the runners heading down to the cylinders. I had “caught it in time”. Any ideas here? Thanks!!
