I did a search but wasn't coming up with what I was looking for.

This has to be something discuss regularly, but I'm looking to replace my BFG KO2 tires. I am running them in a 37x12.5r17 and am very underwhelmed with their actual sizing. I have had them on the vehicle for maybe 4k miles and they measure at about 35" when the weight of the vehicle is on them. Now certainly tires will lose a little from listed heights when they're on the vehicle but I didn't expect the listed 36.5 would lose 1.5".

With that said I would really like something as close to 37 when on the vehicle as possible. I'm likely going to make the switch to a M/T and one with a 13.5 measurement instead of 12.5. The closest I have seen in person would be the Toyo Open Country M/T. That one new was measuring 36.25" on the same truck. I had considered the Milestar Patagonias but have found that there are a few Youtubers that swear by them but then a bunch of others who I'd trust their opinion more claiming they're not very good.

So the question is: what tire/brand is going to measure closest to a 37 when installed? Leaning toward Toyo or Nitto.

From what I've seen, most tires out there will measure around an inch smaller than the tire size when on the vehicle. I just put Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 315/70/R17's on mine (which are listed just shy of 35") and the measure about 33.8" on the vehicle. I know Nitto 40's measure 39" as I just watched a video on setting tire size with a Tazer on a vehicle that had them.

It will also obviously depend on the tire pressure you are running and the wheel width as well. The narrower the wheel, the taller the tire will measure.
