Which headliner do you have and recommend. is the Mopar and hot heads the same thing? I can’t remember the brand I had in my JK but they were awesome. I think that company is out of business they covered 1” foam in vinyl.

IMO... go with the hot heads.

I’ve had both, hotheads in my previous JKU and mopar in my JT. The hot heads are nicer quality material and definitely keep the interior temps within reason. The mopar ones are for looks.

Anybody bother to pull the interior apart to sound proof the floor? Seems like it would only be worth it if you were already doing seats or a cage.

HotHeads here too.. Noticeable difference in sound & temp. Plus its a small outfit made in Meridian Idaho & I like supporting the little guys.

I have the Mopar factory headliner that came as an installed option. I never really looked at them real close, all my previous Jeeps never had headliners Upon closer inspection and watching the install video for the HotHead headliner, don't waste your money on the Mopar headliner. (unless you are like me and didn't really have the choice) The Mopar headliner really doesn't have a lot to them and I would suggest extremely over priced. The HotHead headliner seem to be much better constructed and even if you add the sound assassin strips and side panels are still cheaper. Cheers!

I do.. No clue if they make a difference or not, but I didnt wanna have to do the job a 2nd time because I tried to save a couple bucks so I went ahead & bought them with the liners. I can definitly say the overall difference is worth it, but the strips specifically I never tested alone.

Our Sound Assassin strips are a great addition to the Hard Top Headliners if you're going for maximum benefit and want to do all you can to reduce road & wind noise.

The sound damping properties of Sound Assassin remove sound vibrations (frequencies) by absorbing the energy, which restricts them from traveling further (across your hard top), causing a reduction in audible noise (road noise, weather, tires, etc.). I like to think of it in terms of waves.

The strips won't eliminate all noise/vibrations, but they do help, especially when they're combined with our headliners. We've noticed that it makes the biggest difference if you have made upgrades to your Jeep, especially bigger tires, or when it's raining on your hard top.

Sound Assassin also has great Thermal Insulation properties with the top layer being made of a Radiant Barrier layer. If you're looking to also regulate temperature as much as possible, I would suggest our Floor Kits that go under your carpet.
