Why 2 muffles and a rear resonator?

So I was thinking about removing the rear muffler and adding a turndown and seeing how it sounds. Already removed the rear resonator bc it’s ugly and made zero difference. Has anyone done this and can point me to a sound clip? Any reason not to do this?

Gonna say. There's several posts about this. Even removing both mufflers and relocating resonator to where first muffler was. Gains in power negligible. Acoustically sounds better, but not loud and overbearing.

I chopped out the middle suitcase and had a pipe welded in its place and left the front tube and rear resonator alone. Results? The pentastar is a very nice sounding engine... but it's definitely a V6.

I removed the forward reso and installed a $99 Borla from Amazon. Sounds great. 2k rpm drones and the wife doesn’t like it but it’s mine. Here is a video of my favorite part of my drive home. Going under the 15 at Camino De Norte.

I did a B2 Fabrication Moderate Muffler.. Cut out both the factory leave the resonator.. DAMN 2k-2.4K drone is double the loudness at all other RPMs.. Considering the AWE exhaust .. Buddy has it has a good rumble but loud in the Cab.
All who have posted todate.. did you get the DRONE in that rpm range?

If you want something quick and dirty, one cut between the first exhaust hanger and the large suit case muffler. Bolt on a turn down tip then wake up the neighbors. Does not drone on the highway.
