Thanks to everybody for the very helpful thread

Currently a 2015 JKU Rubicon owner who just came back from yet another trip to Moab. Although off roading there was fun, the 20 hr one way drive back to Chicago was painful.

Especially with a 3.5”’lift and 35” tires. And with the heavy winds.

Am thinking about my next vehicle. And undecided between either a JLU Rubicon (diesel or V6) or a Gladiator Rubicon.

Maybe I can convince my wife to get both??

Am leaning towards a JLU Rubicon with some mods (lift kit, 37” tires given the newer/beefier Dana 44s, AL skid plates and winch kit). But maybe I can get a Gladiator down the road to tow the JL

Has anybody used the Diesel Gladiator to tow a JLU modified for rock climbing. Am thinking 3.5” lift with 37” and AL skid plates? If so, how did it ride?

Am completely new to towing, but just dreaming I could drive the gladiator with the JLU in tow.

And when we get to our destination, the JLU can do all the crazy rock climbing. But the Gladiator can also do some of the simple trails.

Am I being crazy? Should I just consider a Dodge Ram or some other full size truck for towing?
