I never know which is which, but I've found that these connectors work in one of three ways:

* The white insert (or whatever color it happens to be) can be pulled out with a little force, which unlocks all the pins (i.e. the pins are all placed, and the insert slides over top locking them in).
* The insert slides out of the rear completely with the pins, and you need to find the locking tabs that release it (i.e. the pins are all placed in the insert outside of the jacket, then the entire insert with pins slides and locks in as one complete unit).
* The locking tabs for the pins need to be relieved individually by hand, with a little bit of wiggling and luck.

Based on the picture, I don't think it's #2. Given there are holes above each pin, that seems like it's meant for pushing a pin/pick down to release the tab (#3). You need a very thin pick, ideally with a small curve: insert it down the hole and possibly press slightly down toward the pin. You could also attempt #1 and see if the white insert wants to come out - it's usually just a tight pressure fit.

Got it out. Trying this repair.
