X4S Install question

I'm working my way through installation of my X4S cover and step 9B (I have the type B bulkhead install) it says if you have a liner to remove the foam pad from the front of the rail bracket. I have a factory spray-in liner - does anybody know if I should remove the foam in this case, or does that just apply to a drop-in liner? It might totally not matter, just hoping to do this right the first time. Thanks!

Remove the foam. That thickness is enough to mess up alignment on the tailgate end.
