good question...it is damn near flush, I dont have a tonneau to test it out..but from what I can tell it'd be really close, maybe work with some and not with others would be my guess. I do like how solid the rack is and how quick you can mount and dismount the bike from it (bonus I got it half price from marketplace)...I also didnt want to let it hang over the tailgate...and the hitch mount was gaining some age over the years and I didnt trust a 10k eBike outside of the bed lol
