Don't stop when you hear rattling! Honestly, no different than sharks when you surf, be aware and respectful because you're in their house!

That’s where I’ve been going for the last month or so. I went up to Bean Peak a while ago but it got too crowded. My go-to is Apache Wash area on Dove Valley/Sonoran Desert Drive

I love Apache Wash also; I just hate the climbs. We do bean peaks often, but we can go early morning weekdays, which is not crowded at all. The Subaru photo is from Apache Wash.

At least in the rattler prone areas around me they tend to lay on the trail in the morning as things warm up. I either ride super early (so-so as I hear the rustling grass getting back to the TH), or ride after the ambient temp was warmed up. I also pay attention to blind spots in the trail and slow down to "snake-relative" sight lines. Other areas it's "griz-relative" site lines, so pretty much I never zone out in Montana.

This is from January 2020. I bought the JT in July 2019, so this is less than a year after I got it. The bike is a circa 2005-ish Specialized. Both are pretty much bone stock in this pic. The Jeep's not anymore, but the bike still is.
