AEV Front Bumper Released For JT Gladiator!

Well, it's happening! AEV released their front bumper for the JT/JL. I have been waiting for it but got impatient and got a RR Arcus to hold me over. The AEV bumper is amazing but a lot more than I thought it would be, but again...super awesome!

To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed about the price too. I'm sure it's worth every penny because AEV is top notch, but I was expecting something around half that amount. Had I known that was going to be the price, I would have just gotten the Mopar steel rubicon bumper. I also really like the ARB stubby but didn't want to lose front fog lights.

I had the AEV bumpes on a JKU Winter edition and absolutely loved them! Been waiting for them to release the JL/JT bumpers but just can't justify that amount.

I'm sure they are great quality, but I personally find the bull bar too chunky.

And the bull bar and lights and high mount winch have got to kill your towing capacity that was already limited by cooling capacity without all that junk in front of the grill.

And what's the deal with stamped steel being so expensive?

"The RX Front Bumper is up for any recovery task that may present itself during your travels, with two Hi-Lift Jack guides and a pair of heavy duty, chassis-mounted recovery points that are tested to meet all OE load specifications and and are sized for 3/4″ anchor shackles"

And this is interesting; I'd like more details as I can't see how this can be true:

"From your pictures, it looks like the center hoop, lights and winch block off too much airflow to the grille, is this something I have to worry about?

No. We spent years (literally) developing and testing this bumper in a variety of ways and conditions to make sure this bumper would perform well and without compromise BEFORE it made it on the front of any customer owned vehicles. The RX Front Bumper has seen everything from the daily commute to high altitude rock crawling to a multi-day overland trip across the desert."

The bumper design was likely conceived years ago designed around the JK, and adapted to the JL/JT. If this is true, their statement would still be technically true. Though with the grille guard, huge lights, and winch blocking air flow, I find it hard to believe they can say it performs without compromise: I'm sure the cooling system is just working a bit harder to compensate for any airflow blockage with no yet to be seen issues.

OK, where does the front camera have to be "relocated" too. This sounds like it's too expensive to boot.
