hey all,

went to order my build for a mojave at the dealer and there were a bunch of options that were greyed out. from memory, all the safety features, bedliner, tonneau hard cover and a few others. wondering if anyone knows how often this changes and if there's a way to check without annoying the dealer :)

i'm sure we would check a lot more often than them. lol

I don't know about the OP, but the reason I chose the Mojave over the Rubicon is the factory lift, the bolstered seats, the steering wheel, the hood and oh my that wonderful suspension. I test drove a Rubi before making my choice. I don't crawl so I didn't need the front/rear lockers, or the sway bar disconnect that the JTR offers. Very daily driver friendly for me.

As far as addressing the OP's question, maybe someone can pull up a current order list for the OP. I don't know where to find one.

I actually had a JT Rubicon that I sold in the spring. I regret doing so (it was loaded and I put 35s on it too). Anyway, I never rock crawled with it and don't plan on doing so with the Mojave. Mojave has better suspension and what I think is a better ride. Changing colors of the truck too tho I did like the red dash on the rubi. I think the orange trim on the Mojave is cool too. Anyway, looking forward to getting back into a gladiator, just waiting til I can order exactly what I want (color and all)

The Mojave springs rates allow for a much softer and compliant ride than the Rubicon. The Mojave and Rubicon are each purpose built and drastically different in ride quality for daily driving in my opinion.

not from my experience, the rubicon was the better daily driver for me, the Mojave was actually stiffer when it comes to ride quality, unless we're talking like going over train tracks, yeah the mojave is less bouncy there.

I’m working on an order for a JT Rubicon and was told today the following options are unavailable to order at least for now:

* Headliner for the hard top
* Spray-in bedliner
* Safety group
* Advanced safety group

Supply chain issues I guess? Late last week when I first worked on the order, the only unavailable items were the hardtop headliner and the spray-in bedliner. Last week, the safety features COULD be ordered, but at least according to the person I”m working with, they were grayed out/unavailable as of yesterday. Was getting ready to officially make the order and he sent me an updated quote without those items. Seems like these issues are intermittent, so who knows, maybe in a couple of days, these items will be available again. Until then I’m going to hold off since I want the safety features.

I'm over here hoping that my order that just went into production isn't held up due to the headliner....

LOL - where to start?!?

They are totally different trucks in many ways, built for different purposes, different rides, etc. as well as some accents, seats and so on that are different.

Yeah it does. I keep in touch with some industries and yeah, it makes sense.
Some of those on the list you quoted have been unavailable off and on for over a year now. The bed liner - that was off and on last year, and some of the other stuff- CHIPS. Sorry, but DUH.
Why did Toyota shut down some operations? Can't get parts. Why did it take almost a month to get a wiring harness for my snow plow? Supply chain and WORKER issues - companies are desperate for PEOPLE to work - actually work.
The company I bought my plow from said that they placed their usual order for parts and supplies to get them through an Iowa winter - months ago - they still don't have them and have no idea when they will get them. I got lucky.
They also said their industry people, suppliers and so on are predicting it to get worse. VW management says "it's going to get worse before it gets better", It's actually worse than it was last year according to people I know in various industries. It took 8 months for me to get $40 windshield wiper wiring harnesses. I bought every one I could find and then was told "we'll be able to get more in July" and that was last November. Still in short supply.

Doesn't make sense? Yeah, totally. They can't get it! It's really that simple.

I thought the chip shortage was resolved by now? I had no issues getting my truck in June fully loaded

that's true, guess I don't get the people that get them claiming they have better "ride quality" because it wasn't built to be a great daily driver, naturally the suspension is gonna be stiffer and more heavy duty because it was made for desert running, that doesn't equate for better daily driver usability
