Quick update on my accident situation. Turns out the other driver had defaulted on his payment a month back and didn't have a valid policy in place. So I'm now having to go thru the Uninsured Motorist path with State Farm.

I have $500K limit per accident, $250K limit per person Uninsured Motorist coverage. So far I've confirmed the Uninsured policy will take care of my deductible...now I need to see how much I can get for bodily harm & pain & suffering for the back pain/stiffness issues I'm having now.

I think I still need to get an attorney involved to make sure I get everything out of my Uninsured Motorist coverage. Not sure how this is going to impact my future insurance premiums with State Farm.
Accident forgiveness written into your policy????

sorry to hear you are still feeling it.

any update on frame inspection? Anything tweaked on the Jeep (aside from the hitch…)

Thanks. Yeah apparently in CA they have laws preventing your insurance rates going up if you're not at fault and submitting an uninsured motorist claim.

I have the initial estimate from State Farm now (all of $700) and will take it to the body shop likely this Friday to get their real estimate. I have my attorney consultation also on Friday to figure out next steps with them.

Quick update: The body shop didn't find any frame damage and also mentioned that Jeeps don't tend to have even panel gaps out of the factory. Basically I should only need the rear bumper, tow hitch and the left tow hook replaced.

As the OEM bumper is on back order I've decided to order a Rock Hard 4x4 rear bumper to replace it. The body shop had provided this list of parts for the OEM replacement. I'm assuming that I shouldn't need all of the OEM bumper related parts denoted below when installing an aftermarket bumper like the one from Rock Hard? The rear sensors on my damaged bumper seem to be working fine so I'd figure I can reuse those.

Correct - much of that stuff is to move the sensors over to the MOPAR bumper, that sort of thing.
You really won't need much at all to install the after-market bumper - they are pretty much turn-key solutions.
Not the least bit surprised to hear what the body shop said about no frame damage. Frankly, I'd have guessed that, and even bet on it.
And the panels - my 2020 was perfect, the alignment of the box on my 2022 - meh, not so perfect. The stuff I've seen over the years as far as panel alignment for many makes and models of cars and trucks is interesting, but then they are made in bulk and there are tolerances, and humans do all of it - even programming the robots to do the work. And humans made the robots.
If every FCA employee was OCD, your truck would take months to build (I could never work i a factory........ I'd be stopping the line or marking things fail every 10 minutes)

So the OEM trailer hitch is backordered with no ETA. Is there a good aftermarket alternative that would still fit with my aftermarket Rock Hard bumper?

I got the one with the receiver from Summit racing. Not sure how much shipping would be from them, It is a factory Mopar part. The only thing it didn’t have was the 2 rivnuts. I have the one without the receiver that I replaced off my 22 Rubi, yours for the shipping.

How can you have a receiver hitch without the receiver?
Do you mean you have the CROSS MEMBER from a JT that didn't have a tow package? If so, that's not a hitch or receiver. It's simply a cross brace or cross member.
If he wants to tow as his truck was built and rated for, he has to have the same capacity receiver his truck was built with.

[/QUOTE this one
you are correct sir. I replaced the one on my JTR (without the tow package) with the one with the class IV receiver. I found it at Summit racing.

It is a Mopar factory part that Summit has 10 or more (as of today)
I was offering my take off part if he didn’t care to have the Class IV receiver.

Oh crap I didn’t realize Summit had that. They don’t list it under the same part number so it didn’t come up when I googled.

It helps that Summit racing is right down the street from me. All the other places I looked for it were on back order. That part number is for the steel bumper also. Not sure what the difference is but, OP was talking about changing out his rear bumper anyway.

Yup. Summit is great. You'll have that in no time! ;)

Keep us posted on how things work out with your injury and how State Farm handles it. I hope you don't have any long-term issues.
