Warning to 2022 and later Jeep models - AlfaOBD won't work. It can't read your BCM or PCM.
I've tried to get some sort of response on if they even plan on any support - so far nothing.
We're already well into the 2023 model year and they haven't even touched the 2022 model year yet.
Does anyone have any insight into this?
I'm about ready to scrap it and find something else - but so far, nothing else gives the same reports AlfaOBD did, and their logging is superior.
JSCAN logs are a disaster, full of dozens of blank lines and the format is a more complex CSV type structure, not a nice clean easy to read text log. For example, if you tell it to read the BCM, it takes forever - you must manually tell it to check all PIDs and then when it gives you a report, it's full of spaces and multiple entries for each item.

Looks like we need a new software tool!

Very disappointed in AlfaOBD.

I've been pestering him every month with email hoping to get the 22 JT added but as you know it hasn't helped. It is a little early this month but I'll send him another in a minute. The last reply from Alexey was on Oct 21 and is pasted below:

Sorry not yet, it’s in plans but I can’t promise at the moment…

Alexey

I can only assume that if 2022 is not functional, 2023 is also not functional. Sweet.

That's akin to switching to a screwdriver when the ratchet gives out, though. I'm looking for logging, diagnostics, something simple and menu driven.
Not looking for a leave in place thing to change the way the locks work or any live features nor anything costing several hundred dollars.

AlfaOBD can give things like this -

JSCAN is ok but their logging sucks. It's horrible. Great for live data, or making system changes, but terrible for logging the diagnostics.

He wrote back this morning so I'll paste his reply below. I sent him a follow up asking what information he is short and will report back. I have no doubt it will be over my head but maybe someone here will be able to help.

David, sorry for the delay with that but it takes time because I’m still missing data for the 2022 model. Hope to get it soon…

Regards,

Alexey

I offered to try to gather data from my 2022 if if was the sort of data I could gather and log - I'd have to use JSCAN or one of the other apps I have that actually works with the JT 2022.
I'll do a complete dump of any module he needs IF that is what's needed.
It could be there's proprietary PIDs that are used that he hasn't got the info for. Jeep's codes aren't all standard stuff.
Maybe that's not what he's after........ ?

He has been pretty good about replying to email so hopefully he will let one of us know what he needs. I will update this when he responds

Except for August, he has replied to every email within 24 hours and that reply only took a few days. Those replies were only to questions asking when the software would be updated for 22 models and his replies were always a single sentence saying he is working on it but can’t make any promises. The last one I sent asked the more technical question of what data he needs to update the program and if I can provide any of the information. I am worried that it might be more than he wants to take on but hopefully he will let us know

Alexey wrote back this morning but the data he needs is beyond my capability. Point and click or copy and paste I can do but much more than that and I am not much help. His reply is below.

David,
I’m looking for the internal Jeep data, which describes the request-response sequences for the scanning of the car parameters. Hope to have it soon ?

Alexey
