April of 2021, I was planning to buy my wife a new Jeep. We were haggling over colors and options, but it was going to happen. By the end of April, I found out about the affairs and divorced her. I had awesome evidence and came out well, but that's not the revenge.

I bought MYSELF the Jeep and got the options I wanted, but I also got the heated seats that she wanted and I like them very much. Her mother passed away this week. She was a saint and lived a great 91 year life. I flew my son in from the East coast on emergency leave for his grandmother's funeral and loaned him my Jeep to drive. I just put 37s on it and it has personalized plates with my grandpa name, The Papa. She is also a diesel.

This is where the unintentional revenge comes in. My son was having so much fun driving my Jeep that he insisted on driving my ex and my other 2 sons to the funeral in my Jeep. My ex wanted to take her truck, but she didn't want to admit why she didn't want to go in my Jeep. So she arrived at the funeral home and they parked immediately behind the Hearse for the procession to the graveside after the services. After the services, everybody started getting into their cars for the police escorted procession. I went to the funeral with my mom and we were walking by my Jeep as she was trying to climb in. One of her cousins (There were 20-30 of her cousins there.) commented on how nice HER Jeep was. She had to tell him that it was MY Jeep. He kind of laughed awkwardly and hurried to his car. I didn't go to the graveside service, but I guarantee that every other of her cousins commented on "HER" Jeep. Not only did I get the Jeep, she had to show it off to her whole extended family. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the procession. Unintentional revenge is best and I wanted to keep it classy.

Divorce gifts to yourself usually turn out to be some of our best purchases. I got divorced when I was 29. After being put through the ringer, struggling to keep my head above water, etc I went and bought myself an '02 Harley Deuce that was a year old and only had 2200 miles on it. 20 years and 40k miles later, I've still got that bike and it brings a smile to my face every time I throw a leg over it. It did so much for me mentally and emotionally at that time to be able to get on it, tune out the b.s. and just ride.

We were married for over 30 years. I don't like seeing her miserable, but she did it to herself. She had a 2 year affair with our neighbor. The neighbor dumped her as soon as I found out. I called his wife and gave her my evidence.

Sorry to hear that. No matter how amicable or how ugly a divorce is, one thing is for certain, it changes you.

interesting you talk about getting 'revenge' on your ex at her own mother's funeral and end the post "I wanted to keep it classy"

So you made her mother’s funeral worse for her unintentionally because you don’t greatly care about her anymore but you cared enough to think that it embarrassed her and then posted about it on the internet? This belongs on Reddit, not a classy forum such as this one.

Damn you're pretty judgy. (though that last sentence reeks of sarcasm.)

Over 30 years married. 2 year affair with the neighbor and their both still intact? Getting to observe the unintended consequences of her treachery and being mildly amused is pretty damn classy all things considered.
