I went over that in the video but I used 2x3x.120 tubing. It’s definitely heavy

Thank you. You should pick yourself up a MIG welder and start learning. Could build all sorts of stuff for your truck.

Yeah that would be fun if I had the room to make stuff. I can weld but not near as well as some of the guys I work around daily

I won’t be adding a gas strut to this setup. Swing out carriers don’t usually have them. It’s an interesting idea though. It swings open so easily because of the bearings.

Mine does have on each side, helps out if your nose is lower than the rear or (in your case) left lower than right too. 37”+ start to be heavy sometimes
