Seat won't recline or sit up.

My drivers seat back won't recline or sit upright. It's stuck in an uncomfortable reclined position but no amount of force or finesse will release the mechanism that changes the seat back. No warranty so I want to troubleshoot or fix this myself. Any help is appreciated.

Take it out and examine the mechanisms. Four bolts and a wiring disconnect.

You will need an E-12 E Torx socket.

Yep that and a Big Breaker Bar, if the bolts are as tight as the JL/JKs..

I used the tools in the door removal pouch. Come to find out one of the bolt that hold part of the seat back had fallen out! No idea how but when I removed the seat, there was a spare bolt on the floor. I finally figured out where it went thanks to some exploded views. Put it back in and now all is good.
