I stay in hotels, so I don't pay much attention to this section, but these seem like they might interest some here.

In addition to the topper they have beds, cargo toppers, and more.
All off them are designed to take up tiny amounts of space when not in use.

Kind of a cool thing, but how durable is it if something sharp inside comes into contact with it and it pops?

I wish there was a company that made a hybrid bed rack / topper that you could add panels for complete inside coverage, but easily remove. (And it'd be nice if it would look good).

I think it's a niche market for sure.
If you're someone who wants a hard protective shell you're going to have to deal with the weight of that.
If you're someone who needs a weatherproof cover from time to time, and aren't crazy about keeping a shell either on the truck all of the time, or in the way in the garage or the yard, then it may be what you're looking for.

For trails, I think it's going to depend on what kind trails. Here in the east we get lots of trees and brush that could be problematic.
In the west it's a different story.

All said and done it's the kind of thing you could talk yourself into or talk yourself out of.

Being that I work in the inflatable products industry I have an opinion on this concept ... first i will applaud anyone for thinking outside the box, but IMO this concept would be viable for intermittent and temporary use and is not something I would think you could run continuously or full time. Like inflatable SUP's the drop stitch requires relatively high pressure (high to this industry, not to pneumatic machinery etc) SUP's are know for developing seam issues aver time as the high pressure puts a demand on the coating adhesion of the materials ... depending on where these are being manufactured, not all materials are equal. Also like all inflatable these are going to be subject to thermal expansions and contraction from either temperature variations and changes in altitude. For the $$$ I would opt for a frame Soft topper.
