When I was in Iraq- in the very first days of OIF, we had a Dodge Ram 1500 work truck that the unit I was attached to had set up that we called a "Technical". It drove around these convoys of HETS that were delivering every all over the country, I assume.

It consisted of a M2 Machine gun (referred to as a Ma-Deuce back then) on its tripod with Sandbags loaded in the bed. Useless as could be if anything happened in front of us, but pretty cool for a very young me as a fresh out of training Cavalry Scout to lay down fire as needed. Overall with me in back and ammo cans we were more than maxing out this things payload by what I assume was about double. Every. Time. We. Hit. A. Bump. I went flying up and landed down as though nothing had moved. That was the most amusing thing out of a decidedly very un-amusing 18 months of my life. My now nearly-40 year old back wouldn't have been able to walk for a week if that happened now.
