LOL... Both my CJ7 and CJ8 had built 401's in them and would do well over 100 and did it often. The CJ7 would pull the front wheels off the ground and did so regularly. I have been driving the same way for about 35 years.

Don't tell me how to drive.
I wasn't and would not! You obviously know everything already?
This is the a-hole I was talking about...

Sure sorry you took my experiences and observations personally, but I guess It doesn't take much to get those three little grey cells red hot!
If you, unlike the majority of us are "often" driving your jeep over 100mph. Possibly someone should tell you how to drive...

FWIW, I replaced 2 JK windshields during 1 calendar month due to road debris impacts. I had to replace another previously repaired windshield because the sun was on it one cool spring morning (it was a Saturday and I was outside by myself; if I hadn't heard the pop I wouldn't have believed my kids didn't hit it with something).

Within 3 months of buying my JT, I had a rock crack the windshield, but I got it professionally repaired. My wife got a crack in her JLU windshield after about 6 months. Got that repaired, then it cracked a couple months later from temperature variation (parked in the sun on a cool morning).

I got a phone call today from jeep telling me that my glass was not covered under warranty, oddly they had sent me an e-mail stating it was, the dealer won,t respond or return calls, after taking pictures of the windshield and submitting to corporate. Glass now a full time job

Top 5 states for auto glass claims -
5. NY 2015-2019 over 1.6 million
4. TX
3. CA
2. FL
1. AZ Between 2015 and 2019 - OVER 2.6 million
Still believe Jeep has the problem?

This is from a glass company -
"June, July, and August, it's the heat, really when the vehicle are sitting out in the sun sometimes a tiny chip, and as the windshield heats up that creates expansion in the glass, and the stress causes it to fracture,"

Yeah, I can attest to that.

One plaintiff in the Subaru case has said:
Subaru “failed to disclose material facts and a safety concern to purchasers and lessees of the class vehicles.

Anyway, when a state has over 1.5 million claims in a 4 year period, it's hardly all Jeeps.

Not sure what they mean by safety concern unless the break is in the line of vision or somehow obstructs vision (more than the stuff they toss on the dash, that is) By law, once a crack obscures vision, the glass must be replaced. Maybe that's it.

What is wrong with you? Why are you so full of venom?

I bought the CJ-7 and the CJ-8 new and drove both for several years. The 7 ended up in the sand drags and the Scrambler ran as prerunner and was later raced for several years in several classes which is why they both had 401's. Both were stolen in 2012.

I still have my XJ though.

I too have never had to replace so many windshields and this is my first Jeep….and the last I’ll ever own?

I see 2 options here. (There’s many more I’m sure)
1. FCA engineers (and they have some real good ones here) can design the angle of the windshield to lay more horizontal like other vehicles. That would be awesome.

2. Don’t spend stupid ass money on OEM glass. I pay $239CAD/per windshield at two different windshield replacement companies in Calgary. They hold up just as well as OEM.

Chips and cracks are one thing but what’s just as bad, visually is the grit blasting these get so you want to replace every year anyway as soon as the street sweepers have cleaned up the winter gravel.
Who are the companies in Calgary, I am headed that way shortly and will need a windshiled on the road...

I am not claiming I know if they are or are not defective. But to claim they are requires evidence. I sure hope they have some above and beyond the anecdotal crap mentioned in that link. In addition, they need to have solid enough evidence of the defect along with evidence of a FCA cover-up for any of this to hold its own. That's a tall order, and I'm not buying it.

And "diminish resale values"? Are you kidding? You must be kidding. Wranglers and Gladiators hold better resale values than most vehicles on the market.

I believe they are 100% fishing with this suit. It's a few upset people that a lawyer convinced to sign on to make it a class action so the firm could pressure FCA into a settlement and get a quick payday. They're throwing out whatever jargon they can to make it seem bigger and more impactful than it is not because it's true, but because they want to deter FCA from fighting it and settle quicker. It's a cash grab. It has no real merit. This is garbage.
THIS!

DUH!

Jeep Gladiator Class Action Law suit for windshields in Gladiator and Wranglers 1686000187897

Again, DUH. Sitting in the sun, glass expanding and contracting, the movement, the heat, weakens it and can cause it to simply crack - with no chips.
