I have just purchased a 2022 Gladiator Sport with manual doors locks. The front doors with the key are no problem but the back doors are difficult. What can I do. Dave

Well, they are manual door locks, so you're going to have to actuate them manually. Kind of in the description, no real way around that. It's the reason most go with a Sport S in your situation. Getting manual locks these days is a fairly deliberate choice.

Some find it easier to roll down the rear windows when they want to unlock the rear doors. Try that? Or you could look into retrofitting power locks onto all the doors if it's that frequent of an issue.

Sorry, gotta ask - did you try before you bought? I mean, it's just like every other car or truck ever made with manual locks. Jeep is no different at all. Exactly the same.

My bet is manual windows as well - so he'd have to unlock the rear doors to open them to roll the windows down in order to reach in and unlock the rear doors.

Like any other 4 door with manual locks. Jeep didn't do anything different. Every 4 door I've ever owned was that way. You check those things out first.

I assume - hoping to not offend, that the OP hasn't owned a vehicle with 4 doors and manual locks before? Maybe?

Heck, on my car, I have to unlock the passenger door, open the glove box, press a button to unlock the hatch to put stuff in the back. But then it's what I grew up with.

I'm sort of wondering what the subject of this thread has to do with windows - a sales pitch?

Good point, I forgot about that. Nevermind my idea then haha.

I mean, plenty of vehicles in the past were like this, and it was an inconvenience yes but not enough to gripe about. Just an extra second or two to pop the rear door open by hand. In today's world, and especially with Jeeps, it's a choice to have manual windows and door locks. Every single other package available has electronic windows and doors.

Howdy--I bought my '22 Sport MaxTow last year in April at Gupton (great people and you all know the pricing benefits there.) Anyway, the goal for me, as usual, was to cut corners and save as much as possible--and I ended up with an out the door price of right at $40,000. To do this, I went manual on the locks and the windows. I also have a 2012 JK with the same manual locks/windows, and it works for my wife and me just fine.

So the old school part of me approached the JT purchase the same way, especially when the way to get power windows and locks was only in a preferred option package. I do not recall exactly what the charge was for that, but I'm thinking it was the better part of 2500-3000 bucks. I may have missed another way of getting these options, but I'm pretty sure that it was connected to a "package."

So yeah, great deal on the JT, and we're loving it. But now, the problem: we have a head out the window when driving dog! Man, it would be nice to control "his window," but no, I have to think ahead and open "his door"roll "his window" down, and then adjust as the journey requires.

I would seriously consider the options on the next purchase, but then......the old school kicks back in.

So, to the OP, just enjoy the fact that the windows will always work, the locks will never jam, and think ahead if you have a backseat dog like ours. All the best.....

Wranglers have had many problems over the years with manual locks jamming. But maybe they are good by now.

How many manual lock and window cars have you owned?
Back in the 70s thru 90s I got really good at repairing door window regulators and opening doors with slim Jim's when thinks got sticky or links came loose.

Back in the 60’s we had no power door locks and windows. We had to pedal our bikes too. True story.
Wish I could find pics of the bike I had in my early teens.... .. I put a gas engine on it with a #35 chain going to a 60 tooth sprocket I pressed onto the rear hub. I used a centrifugal clutch on the engine. Pedal???
