OK, it's happened again - this time after my wife drove the truck. She didn't change anything other than the seat and mirror positions and the radio station (country for her, Willie's Roadhouse)
I got in to drive today and looked and what the heck? Instant MPG gone EXACTLY like it happened after my son drove it.
Last time I did nothing and it suddenly reappeared.
I have pictures for those who are disbelievers and keep saying "just hit the arrow keys to change it" - please stop with that because it's not on the wrong screen, the instant mpg disappears.

Here's how it SHOULD look - please note the detail - the location of the text/keys on the screen.
Note that the Range is lower left by the scale, the current is lower right by the scale. Pay close attention. The next picture is the change where "Current MPG" disappears and the Range shifts to under the scale -

This is the EXACT SAME SCREEN but with the "Current" missing and the "Range" shifted to the right - NO ARROWS were pressed -

Jeep Gladiator Instant MPG disappeared from Fuel Economy screen on instrument cluster display. 1696562470939

Now, for those who claim "all you need to do to fix it is used the left or right arrow keys" - this is what you see if you do that - a very different screen.

See? No range and no current.
There are only two screens.
The one just above with only the average and no range, no current, or
the top screen with everything.
When the current disappears, it literally morphs into the screen shown in the middle picture.
If I do not scroll left or right, it will eventually come back on its own and the Range will shift back to the left and the current will again show to the lower right of the scale.

Usually I can find a fix for a problem like this, on this forum!
Mine disappeared a couple times and came back, but it’s been at least a month now since it went out and hasn’t came back.
At least I know it’s not operator error now!
I don’t have a Tazer or any mods other than a couple ham radios wired directly to the battery.

I can't say this is a fix - but both times mine has done it, here's the sequence of events -
I scrolled up to watch the voltage and left it there. Stopped at a store, then drove to Pizza Ranch with my wife - it was still on voltage. I scrolled back down and it was BACK!
When I left home, it was missing the current mpg.

When it disappeared the first time it was similar - I scrolled STRAIGHT UP to the voltage display, drove around with it, a couple stops and starts, scrolled back down to the mpg diplay and it was back.

Coincidence, maybe, but it's like it doesn't like changing back if you are looking at it LOL

Trust me, it will adjust. Look at the miles and tank level. There's only 8.2 miles on that tank and the drive was a fairly easy one at moderate speeds (had not yet hit the hills around home)
In psychological terms, it's delusional.
But I have gotten close to that...........

Yeah, but if we end up driving through the Sahara, you'll get through faster than me.

This just happened to me as well. I picked up the Jeep on Friday from the dealership (they replaced the power window regulator in my rear passenger door) and the green current MPGs were missing. Have not come back yet. So weird.

Wonder if there was an OTA update recently that this could be attributed to.

I would bet a cold beer it is probably related to the Tazer. There has been a smattering of threads talking about cluster menu weirdness and the use of a Tazer has been a common theme.
Happen to me, NO tazer installed 10/27/23

In your case, you aren't toggling it on or off, you are completely changing pages of the display - a screen change.

We aren't talking about that - we are talking about the instant part of the display disappearing from that page or screen. Not how to change screens. It simply "disappears" without changing anything.
Until it happens to you and you realize it's not a screen page change or swap, it's hard to understand.
think of it this way - you have a phone with a home screen. Maybe you have the time or the temperature displayed on your phone's home or lock screen.
One day you pick up the phone and that time display is GONE from your home screen. It's just not there. The home screen is still the home screen, but the time display is missing from your home screen.
Maybe you have a computer running Windows. There's a trash can icon on that screen by default.
One day you look at the computer - you've not touched it - and the trash can icon is GONE.
Like this.... its like playing where's Waldo.... ha ha ha
