It was a nasty fight last time. Even with both wheels off, frame on stands, sway bar disconnected, shocks, vent line, locker, etc. With hydraulic bumps hanging so far down inside the spring, and a big sector shaft brace/ track bar bracket in the way, it’s just stupid. With compressors, I bet I’ll be able to do it with just the swaybar, locker, and vent line and nothing else. I’ll know soon enough.

Looks like the set I "rented" - it's awfully tempting to just buy a set as often as I have to deal with springs, though. Wonder how they'd work on AMC front springs... hmmmm

They look pretty universal. They were cheap. $46 including tax at O’Reilly

It would have been nearly impossible for me to get the springs back in if I didn't compress them.
If there's a next time I'll remember in advance to have some on hand.

I’m not even going to fight this round. I’ll disconnect the swaybar and droop the axle until the end of the shocks. I bet that’s all I’ll need now.

Probably. I had the everything loosened or removed and a jack on the other end of the axle to tilt enough to slide the springs out but with the 2" spacer I could never squeeze them back in by hand.

You can get more space if you drop both sides at a time, but I still have the same issue. I BARELY got the old one removed on one side, but had no shot at putting the new one in. The overall height isn’t much different, but the old ones are normal duty with 40k miles on them. The new ones are HD and weren’t going anywhere.

Dang, those shoes sort of look like mine - I could be a hobo, too!

Anyway, many of us know, I hope, that it's not just the length, it's the strength, or the rate of the spring. One can be 1/2" shorter but be harder to get into place because it's a higher spring rate.
That was the bit about the Synergy springs - not only were they a fair amount longer, but they were dual rate so once you got past squishing the lower rate part, you ran into the higher rate and it didn't want to squish down so much.

I measured my JT's frame compared to my wife's JLU Rubicon frame height - my JT actually sits a bit higher than her Rubicon Wrangler does - not a lot, but it's there. If I had the Rubicon fender flares on my JT - it would definitely look taller.
I got curious about measuring frames for snow plow brackets, and various other things and started comparing bumper and grill heights, headlight heights and then frame areas. If you took off the Rubicon's 32.8" tires (I believe that's where the KO2s might land) and put my 32.2" tires on, then mine would definitely sit higher. Part of the reason for the difference is her taller tires - so make the tires the same, and my JT would sit taller than a JLU Rubicon.
Now out to the dealership to measure the JTs they have out there............

There’s a little hobo in all of us. Gotta let it out to shine.

Yeah. The new ones are barely longer than old off the jeep, but the new ones being HD, do not want to move. This is what the old ones look like when mounted. They’re quite squishy dual rate. The top coils are pretty soft. @Jems007 REALLY encouraged me to look at different springs. I was convinced he was wrong. I’m pretty sure he was spot on. But I’ll find out for sure when these go on. Too cold out to even consider now though. 10 below was the low today I think. It’s sunny, but nasty. This picture is of the old ones mounted.
