Hey guys

So I was trying to install the harness for the procal snap and per the instructions, it says to connect to pin “1” and “9”.

when I unclipped the OBD2 there is already some wires in those slots.

also, it says to unclip the obd2 harness before inserting the wires. I can’t find the clip anywhere. My 2021 wrangler has the clip but not on my JT.

anyone have this issue? Thanks
2023 JT Mojave

wait..... you have a fully populated OBDII plug?! Should be 9 empties. What is that a photo of? It is NOT an OEM Jeep OBDII connector nor wiring harness for it.

The dealer likely installed some sort of device - anti-theft, vehicle tracker. Follow that plug to the other end of it and you'll likely find the real OBDII connector. That is not "Jeep" - what you pictured.

I seriously hate dealers. If you didn't pay for that POS, take it to the dealer and have them remove it.

Cool that you were able to access the OEM connector and that they didn't butcher it.

The dealer I bought from in SoCal installs Stargard by default ($2K). Sure it will automatically alert you if the truck moves beyond a specified radius but the “tracking everywhere you go for 30 days“ part was a definite turn off. I told him to get rid of it or no deal.
OP, check your offer sheet. Something like “theft prevention“ will be on it. They add it to control theft off the lot but then try to pass the cost on to you.

Just a thought. Maybe don’t install the pro cal until they remove that junk. If something gets screwed up when they remove it, they might try to blame you for messing with the pro cal install.
