Any thing can be defeated with enough time
You are welcome to come to my house and try to drive away my jeep
I will know the minute you enter my jeep and I will be ready
That's because you have other protections. It's not because of the Ravelco.
My point is - don't rely only on that thing - it's been bypassed in a matter of minutes. One ford owner actually figured it out and said it took him only a couple of minutes - he knows how they are made, how they work, what they connect into.
There's info out there of a vehicle where a theft was attempted, the guy thought they were thwarted, then they came back and in short order, stole is vehicle. Likely they did as I'd do - be armed with a couple of simple tools and the correct wire colors, etc.

Don't ever rely on that device alone. It's not that hard to get around.
LOCK YOUR HOOD if you use it - otherwise access to the engine bay means they don't even need to care if that thing is there.

Another guy showed how they are made, how to take apart the head part and figure out what's what with a meter and get it started.

There's a guy who has talked about developing a device to plug into the Ravelco and do the work for him figuring out what's what, cutting the time to a mere couple of minutes

They have been bypassed - but it does require access to the engine bay, or getting inside without setting off other alarms.
If you use ONLY the Ravelco................ you could be unpleasantly surprised.
It's also a really crazy price for what anyone with any skills at all can do themselves, and totally, fully hide.

Purchased Anti-Theft Device/Immobilizer/Specialized kill switch:
Rahkmalla suggests the Ravelco.
  • Pro: Effective, not a "home brew" solution. No "master key" vulnerability
  • Con: Essentially it's a fancy kill switch. Expensive. May affect your warranty.
LOL - yeah, right.......... Ravelco. It's all over the internet how to bypass that - in less than a minute.
it's very well known any person who knows basic electronics and can use a meter can get past it.

Looks like you don't even need engine bay access -

There's a whole 18 page thread on another forum about how a truck WITH Ravelco was stolen in short order and driven away.
