Tortolita Pass Trail (Catalina Mountains) - Oracle/Marana/Tucson, AZ

Decided to try out Tortolita Pass in the Catalina mountains outside of Tucson, AZ. Was an absolutely stunning trail! Made it through, with a bit of search and discovery, and assistance from GAIA, in about 4 hours total. The trail begins in Oracle/Oro Valley, AZ and comes out near Marana, AZ just north of Tucson. Got to visit Walter White and Jesse Pinkman's home away from home while we were out there

The trail is rated a 3 out of 5 by some, but felt it wasn't nearly that difficult.

IMHO, this is the best scenery of all the Catalina trails I've done.

I love that trail. It’s definitely more difficult with a stock JT. I made it through pulling my trailer last year.

Have you done Rug Road out to Aravaipa? That’s an amazing trip too. Aravaipa Canyon is awesome.

I have not, but will absolutely look into it. Appreciate the recommendation!!

Rug Road is quite a bit more difficult than it was 10ish years ago, but Turkey Creek on the far side has some of the best camping areas that I've been to. Absolutely beautiful!

Researching the area now. Looks gorgeous and the trails look like they would be quite a bit of fun. Added to my "To Do" List

You guys think we could get through this in a lifted 4x4 Class C (Ford van chassis) on 33s? 24 footer.

It looks challenging enough to test the build, but maybe not so bad as to break anything or risk getting stuck.
