Took it to the dealership for CEL.

needs new lifter and Cam on the driver side.
Anything else I need to be aware of and ask dealer about?

89,000 miles. Pretty sure why it was traded in. Got that NAC used car warranty (whew!)

No not really. other than the occasional cam failure these are pretty solid trucks. there can be a bad sensor here and there but that's true for any brand. I'd do your next few oil changes a little earlier than you are just get any possible metal contaminates out that the cam and lifter may have left. Unless your already doing 5k or less. then you should be fine.

I'd ask for an inspection of the other side. I think they get pretty far gone before they start shooting out codes.
Doesn't hurt to ask.

Tagging in for updates. 3rd party warranties are hit or miss. Like to see how they handle this.

I recently had a warranty claim on my VW through the same company, they covered 1200 of work with less than 3,000 miles of coverage remaining. Hoping for a similar outcome...

Good, hopefully they work out for you. I have just seen and read horror stories of some third party warranty companies just doing shady shit like making shops use salvage parts and not covering the cost of fluids and shop supplies.

Not saying anything like that will happen here, just want to see how well it plays out for you.

Update, warranty covered the Left side, put back together, Check engine. They are tearing down the right side now for another claim. Weird thing, the Check engine light came on but no codes.

That's great! I'm glad they're covering both sides. Hopefully it'll be good for a long time.
