So left because I couldn’t take it anymore and then……came back. I’m hear now until they kick me out. Different name though, didn’t like the other one. Admittedly much of what I read on here I either laugh or shake my head or both or sometimes want to take a hot bath with toaster…..that’s plugged in. Have a JT obviously. ‘23 Willys, or Willys Sport or something like that…..importantly it’s the poor people version. Sting grey, factory slider things, BFG MTs, bedliner that was all factory. Few additions but nothing fancy like on here oh my. No lift either just sad and stock which is how it will stay forever. I bought this one on purpose because it has manual windows and door locks and no LED lights on it anywhere because good ole fashion incandescent lights like mom used to make melt snow and ice. I didn’t trade a BMW or a Porsche for it either, just a 19 Frontier SV which in retrospect should have kept, but that would be crying over overturned dairy products. First new Jeep anything I’ve ever had and first Wranglerish thing too. Always been into and always will be Grand Cherokees anything from 1993-2004 after that they suck, and after 2010 there just trail rated Ford Explorers. Fair chunk of XJs and MJs along the way too.

I'm sorry you left why? And their ain't nothing wrong with simple and analog. And taking a bath with a toaster? Its a forum brother, don't let it get to ya like that. Sure people want to have a stick up their ass occasionally and say you should. Others will spew any type of none sense to justify spending buku for kaka. At the end of the day, as long as you get to go to bed happy with your decisions. Not much else matters. Helpful tip, If someone just starts ripping into ya for no reason. Don't engage. Just reply the ol' "ok buddy" and go about your day. Not saying you should be ignorant but you don't have to argue with idiots either.

Welcome to the internet…...and social media. ? It’s the same no matter where you go or what forum/group you’re in. You just gotta find the ’better’ group/forum that fits your likes/dislikes/personality. Believe it or not, there are REALLY GOOD people out there…..

I’m totally new to this forum. I came here to try something new. I‘m in a lot of Facebook groups (for various hobbies), and they’ve all gotten ‘old & stale’. You can’t even ask a decent question (after you’ve searched for answers already) and 80% of the responses are totally unrelated to the question and/or they never understood the question to begin with. ?

This forum has been a breathe of fresh air for me so far.

Just remember….. If social media didn’t exist, LIFE GOES ON without it. You’re not required to play along with the drama and/or the stress that people can give you.
Scroll on…..?

It’s hard man, I Jeep for realsies, and have for long ass time. Somewhere the whole thing went to looking off-road without doing it, like it’s a race to see who can bolt on the most expensive shit. There’s cats on here that use their trucks and plenty more that just decorate them and couldn’t wheel their way out of a snowy parking lot. Like they can buy their into off-road. Plenty of trails were made in this country with old Lizzys and 2 wheel drive pickups years ago.

Yeah i feel ya man. I grew up poor, so to me the most capable vehicle is a rental or junkyard 200 dollar special. That's how i taught myself to drive. The boys and I would go get cheap beater and every snow storm we intentionally put em full spins and whatnot and then take bets to see who could save it. loser bought the next case of beer. Couple broken bones occasionally, but we had an ol' vet that could set em straight enough for pack of cigarettes. I got one arm longer than the other now, but memories and skills i wouldn't trade for nothing. Me now in my Mojave on 37s, no way i could keep up with 17 me, 6 pack deep, 06' rusted chevy malibu on the trails. I don't wheel for cool points, or build for cool points. I do it for a good time and something to smile about when i'm old and gray. I'll leave the showboating for wannabe bro dozers. or until i want to embarrass my wife attempting something stupid on liquid confidence. ?

Facebook I left long time ago, in fact I don’t have any social media anymore. In fact my demise on FB was the Grand Cherokee forums. It was people in over their heads pretending they knew helping others who were equally in over their heads. Soon as I would chip in and help out, like meaningful help just crickets, then I just started to rip them apart. This forum is NOTHING like that. So just some forums now. I circled back to 2005 social media.

I have a 2020 and its pretty much still the JT I bought originally. I won't call it a poor man's vehicle based on what Jeep was charging (LOL). Put some larger tires on and changed the front bumper but that was strictly cosmetic cause I thought the trucked looked a lot better. I kind of wish I had gotten one without power windows and locks after having it for a while

Yeah they do look silly on stock tire….and you’re right about the price. Mine had a rebate so it was wasn’t bad. Still it’s the Poors Edition, maybe with enough bolts ons I could hang with the fancy kids for 5 maybe 10 minutes anyway.

Pretty much felt like this shifted into overdrive when the JL’s came out. They became nice enough on the inside to attract the outside car enthusiasts….
But, real talk there have been wheelers in $100k rigs built to the tilt taking bypass route for a long time…. Just take it for what it is… do you. ???

ZeeJay, don’t sell your Willys Glady short, they are pretty damn capable stock, compared to most anything else with a long wheel base, the mud tires might make your ears ring after a long drive but they will shine off road. Sure there are a lot of us (me too) spending too much on their jeeps but it’s a hobby and even if all ya do is mod it up and go to Jeep shows that’s ok, someday a 16 year old will end up with that show jeep and wheel her hard!

welcome back …Jack
