Lol it's about 18+ now but that picture was on some long trips I was taking. Easy on the gas and judicious use of the cruise control and the 35's I have are only 10.5 wide.
They can do partial whatever you want. The waiver option in Idaho allowed me to do the whole thing and I have never tried it, but absolutely enjoy it every day now.
Yeah, it never hurts to share experiences in case someone hasn't been through it. I call it more friendly advice than policing.
Yeah I see what you mean. This meter slides over the window so appears it needs to get on both sides of the glass to measure it.

I run racing optics with a 3 layer non tint plastic on the outside. It's been 9 months on the 3rd layer, I've had rock hits, no damage. It's important to have a non pitted windshield. I do wax it to prolong the layers.
In the part you didn't read, someone who isn't the OP and doesn't understand how forums work requested the tint police stay out of this. ?
I did read that thought provoking post and I did go out of my way to say I don't care what you do because as long as it doesn't affect me why should I. I was just giving out the legal realities.

I just went ahead and did the windshield, even though the two front doors were the only intended application. Besides, the tint guy was at one time prior to me(?) probably thinking, “Who am I going to sell the rest of this too,” but.. he did already have it, I guess.
I admit, it took some time getting used to the straight look-through blue of the doors, but I very well may have helped to not get pulled over(?). I do not know, but I am OK with it now. I do NOT see blue or any applied color looking out.
Love it or hate it… I could not care any less either way. Carry on.
