Spring in the Beartooths

Didn't get to camp this weekend, but I did get to check out the lower roads in my backyard... lower roads had less snow than normal this year...High country still buried. We were alone... so no deep snow or mud stuff... just cheacking out to see what is open for camping for the next couple of weeks...

I love that area. So many awesome places to camp and just rest and recharge for a few days. Several lakes to kayak in, and even more to hike to if you are able to. The valley bottom of the Joe is cool, but the plateau is just stunning, especially if you get off of the paved road.

Pass over the top is still snowed in this year... they normally have it open by this weekend. I'm hoping they get it cleared up this week!

Now you went and made me miss Montana! I need to get back up there one of these days, hit areas I haven't been, revisit some favorite places and back to my dad's hometown again (it has been a VERY long time since I have been there).

I'm over by Helena. May 31st, and 28 degrees this am... And Bozeman got hit with 18 inches of snow here like a week ago. We've been out twice so far at Lewis and Clark Caverns and Baker's Hole down by W. Yellowstone as they opened. I'll be hitting Red Cliff down by Big Sky here in a couple weeks (reservations). I noticed a lot less snow up high myself this year, not good for wildfires in Aug Sept. But this last snow did add to the snowpack and we need it.

You catch any of the snow? I'm at the edge of the Elkhorns and they got a nice foot or two on top and we need the snow pack. We just got snain (snow/rain/slush) below about 6,000 feet, heavy lost power for six hours one day...

AND, for you outlanders, winter will be back as early as early October like 2022 when we got over a foot in the first week of Oct. So, MT isn't as nice as the "Yellowstone" makes it look. I love the 41 below zeros I've experienced twice and 20 and 30's below often in late Jan early Feb mostly... So, we have a short time often to enjoy... So, come visit, bring your money and go home...

Nice... I want to do both. Still setting mine up (Freedom Edition) trying to figure if I'm going to take the Duelers off or run em another year and go with KO2's or I guess K03's now days... Maybe a 1.5 lift. I love em on my trucks.

Sure looks nice, I love the mountains. Just feels like home to my soul.
