I just got mine and was about to install – and ran into the same problem for the driver and passenger seat headrests.

I absolutely agree with OP – pretty hokey – but it as others pointed out, it insures a very solid fit.

That all being said – there's literally no instruction in this box... it's a high end product (~$450) – with no instructions. I'll likely keep them but this is a simple fix – print a piece of paper and avoid confusion.

Website is also kind of a mess to order from / get updates – at least everyone raves about their product

You will love them, and they protect your seats like force fields. Call them with any questions. They’re great to work with.

If only they made them so the existing plastic back configuration could remain accessible on the Mojave – can't win them all!

Definitely stoked to have something covering the seats with all the mountain adventures / home reno projects that lay ahead...

I find them very mediocre. Even dealing with the customer service, as I had to send half of mine back due to ripping at the seams. Before getting them installed.

It can be a tight fit if you don’t screw it up, like I did. Couldn’t get it to cut. Then it cut too much. Be careful. At least one is a tight fit. And actually I wish I would have just left the middle head rest off. Nobody going to seat there anyways.

Best of luck.

Confused. Whats not accessible? I have a Rubi, but everything can be accessed.

It’s not that bad to install. But patience is important. For a tight fit, one needs to go slowly. Pulling and forcing will rip any product.
