I've got a small President Bill CB and I'm thinking about where I can mount it. I've looked at this kind of mount.....pictured below. But I wonder if I will be able to hear the speaker. I do think it is pretty loud for such a little box, but before I go this way, I'm wondering if anyone here in the hive has come up with a good way to go with that little CB?

I did GMRS but same place. Seems to work well. My speaker is in the mic and I have it up in the dash. Good luck

I'm doing both CB and GMRS. I have an MXT 275 laying around that will find it's way in. For now I'm using handheld GMRS.

My JL has both, as well, with the GMRS being an MXT 575.

Nice. 50 watts of GMRS power!

Yes, but honestly, I don't feel any gain in transmission distance than with the 275, in the real world when running with groups of Jeeps. Not sure there's much advantage or I'd move that radio to the JT.

I Installed a small Uniden 520XL CB this way in the passenger well of my JTR and it was loud enough with the doors on.

However, I had to plug it to the Jeep speakers AUX input when the Gladiator was naked with all the wind noise!

In my Mojave, I have a Midland-style handheld CB and it is the same thing with wind noise... however I can hold it closer at will...

I used mine in northern Nebraska and eastern Wyoming. Luckily just testing it. I was only getting 4-5 miles - zero cell service or infrastructure. GMRS is part of my comms PACE plan for dispersed camping (fancy people say overlanding but it’s really just camping) - primary, alternate, contingency, emergency.
