HEY all,
I had a weight distribution hitch installed and set up to tow a Forest River R-Pod camper trailer with my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon with stock wheels, tires, and suspension. Trailer is ~5k lbs.

The trailer is now at a repair shop while the Gladiator is getting a 1.5” Metalcloak Lift and 35” tires….now the truck sits a good 4-5” higher than stock, requiring the WDR to be adjusted….and definitely a lower drop hitch.

Can I tow the trailer with the now-poorly-adjusted weight distribution bars attached, or should I only use the ball hitch and drive slowly to a truck shop who knows better than I do?

The truck shop doesn’t think the WDR hitch will be an issue with the lifted truck, but I don’t believe them.

Does your weight distribution hitch not have holes to lower and raise hitch? I have 1 1/2 inch in front and 3/4 inch on back with 35s and just lowered my hitch a couple holes. I pull a 6800 lb camper

If it's not to late, I'd measure the properly set up hitch height before the lift and tires are installed.
Measure again after lift and tire install and lower the hitch the measured amount.

This should get you close enough to safely pull the trailer to a shop to get it inspected, if you feel it needs another set of eyes to confirm the setup.

I think your math might be wrong I see a 2 1/2 inch raise at trailer hitch 1 1/2 with lift and 1 inch from tires. 33 to 35 can you adjust the bar tension on trailer if you can you should to move some weight to the front wheels if you have any say and air to rear tires most hitch’s have height adjustments to make trailer tow level if yours don’t take it a trailer dealer and see if they will trade it in for one that will work
