Who was this? Trailed you for a few miles before I had to dip to head home. That's some big rubber energy 😂

Rig looks mean. I definitely assume you regeared because we had no trouble keeping with the flow. Love the window graphic too.

I'm heading to Manalapan next week to visit the in-laws. I'll keep my eyes out for this rig!

Parents moved us to Freehold in the 60's to get out of NYC. You know, "move to the country" :). And during that time it really was the country.
Rt9, near the circle, used to bear a sign that read "Welcome to New Jersey's Killer Highway 9". At that time Rt9, leading to the circle, was one lane in each direction. Although it has been a long time since I've lived in the state and despite the jokes, I will say that it is truly a great place to live! Enjoy all my visits back.

Ironically, they removed that circle in the 80's because some people argued it caused too many accidents...it was an actual "killer".

I have a love-hate relationship with NJ. I have lived here since 1981 when my USCG/DoHS dad got his long-term assignment, and we moved from Governor's Island. My parents knew they didn't want to raise me in the city. I thought I'd finally move on after college, but as fate would have it, I met my future wife on a break from school...and here we are with our own family decades later. The taxes suck, they're always building... but it's home. Maybe when my kids go off to college in another few years, the Mrs. and I will look around, haha!

Doesn’t New Jersey have strict inspections and regulations about wheel poke? In every situation but mud, that setup may look cool, but I can’t imagine how that handles in heavy rain? Or hardpacked snow/ice? Never mind the unsprung weight issues.

I actually agree with you. It's not how I would personally run my own setup, but I don't judge. Regarding NJ regs, I'm not really sure TBH. When I went with 35s and a touch more offset, I also added the fender extensions so that there was no poke at all. I did that for functional reasons, but I figured it'd keep me in compliance too if there was a potential issue.

Not sure about NJ but I do know that PA has regulations that state the tire must NOT be more than 1" outside the fender lip.

And, yeah, I can also see those tires being basically useless in really bad weather.

So do I but after 25 years I might be moving back to have access to better medical care and my wife is as "thick as thieves" with my SIL. No circle? I'd have to see that lol since it has been a long time since I was there.

No circle... And if that's not big enough of a shock, the Freehold Raceway ran its final race EVER not too long ago. 171 years of history...done! A few different developers are trying to present their proposals now for the site.

If you eventually make your way back here, don't hesitate to reach out!

No more races in Freehold? Wow things have changed! I still remember watching it burn as a kid. I lived in Stonehurst in the township side and things were so bright you could see the flames. Went to FTHS. My brother lives in Red Bank and my sister near the shore. As kids we used to say "if you don't get out of Freehold, you will die here".
Tell me Raceway park is still there.

I forgot about the fire!

Raceway Park is still there, but there are a bunch of developments around it now and people are complaining. Amazing how people move to a place that has an attraction and then complain about the noise!
