Need someone to clue me in about tire sensors. Can I reuse my stock units or do I really need new ones? Buying new tires and I'm wondering if the tire shop is trying to get me to spend more money.

Your new one will transfer over unless you have some weird profile wheel that need an adjustable "universal" TPMS sensor installed but that is like a 1% situation.

TPMS sensors usually last 5-7 years before needing replacement due to battery life.

Not so fast Gordie.
There was a vin split in June of 2021.
If your Gladiator was built before then
it uses a different TPMS than is used now.
Either move your old sensors to the new wheels
or if you want new ones make sure
that they are the pre-06/21 sensors.
The tire shop may not be aware of the change.

If your current TPMS are working with your current wheels, then there is no reason they won't work with your new wheels, as long as the valve stems fit in the new wheels.

How old are the stock sensors?

New tires, or new tires and wheels?

Perhaps one could ask them to replace battery when moving TPMSensors? I've got new 'take-offs' from a Rubicon Gladiator I JUST put on my '22 Willys Gladiator and voila.... no TPMS sensors (I forgot to ask the seller)
Is it wrong to presume all 2024/5 Rubicon's come with TPMS?

You have to replace the whole TPMS sensor. They are not serviceable for battery replacement.

TPMS sensors have been mandated by law since 2008.
