I lived with that tire on my 6mt for almost a full year before I got 4.88s. It was fine around town but you really find yourself in "the wrong gear" a lot and have to downshift more frequently just for mild acceleration. Its not ideal but it is workable. I really am enjoying the 4.88s now.

Didnt have time before trip to regear so I'm still on the 4.10s with the 38s in my manual.
I did around 4,000 miles round trip from FL to Moab (and a ton of trails) and back.

In my opinion the 4.10s were no where near as awful as I would have guessed.
The only real grip is that at highway speeds I typically found myself in 5th and rarely in 6th and would sometimes have to drop into 4th on long grades.

That being said even with hundreds of miles of offroad trails my total avg for the trip was about 14.5mpg and that was really loaded down .

Offroad the gears were a non issue as everything was so rough I was just in low-range most the time. Around town I do feel that with all my extra overlanding junk Im riding the clutch a bit more than I'd like to on take-off.

I still am considering a gear swap in near future as I still want to do a mild lift and add a few more accessories but Im happy I didn't stress out trying to get them swapped before long trip.
