What I would like to see is a modular bed rack like the one below with slots to add Bestop Panels on the tops and sides. I like to travel with my dogs and on long trips it would be nice to give them some shade and wind protection while still being able to carry all my supplies conveniently.

Might be a possibility...

I had that on my Tacoma and it did work like a champ. The biggest downside is that there is no ventilation for anything back there. See my post above about traveling with dogs. I think there were mesh panels available for an extra price, but they were almost as expensive to buy as the whole top. If there were a way to offer an option like the Trektop Pro or with an additional zip off plastic panel on top of the mesh, I would be interested in that. (If the modular top I discussed above never comes to fruition)

Agree top needs to go all the way down - much better option. I'm more apt to take the top completely off otherwise...

Soft topper would be nice.

Are there full JL soft doors (uppers and lowers...front and rear) that swap over for use on the JT?

I want something like this, but I want the windows to have mosquito mesh and opaque (both) window fabrics. Like most tents. My plan was to try and make the bed an occasional tent, but be able to fold it back when the roof and doors are off or I need to haul big stuff.
I'd also like an option where the windows could have an inner latch that could be set to only open from the inside for (slight) added security. I think it'd be awesome.

I would agree to the zip in interior mesh panels. I could see it as a sort of modular system that could be zipped in place when the windows are removed by using the same zippers, or even to keep them in place all the time similar to a tent where the outer windows are removed or rolled up. Would definitely be a different take on things.

Thanks for coming over. For the aftermarket options would these be to convert the OEM top to go all the way down or would it be a replacement system? Just want to know whether I should order a dual top or just the hardtop and get the top from you guys seperately ?

Also a big question if you can answer, I know that the JL comes with a tan top, that was not available at launch but it was a available after, any word if this will be available as well on the Gladiator ? I’m very interested in running a tan top instead of the black top.

Hey guys!

There will be aftermarket options coming.... :)

As far as changing the current top, thats a no-go. It is already in the production phase.

Some of you coming over from the JL forum might know, but i will fill in those that don't. If you have any suggestions or feedback please let me know, i can pass it along to the aftermarket team. No promises on anything, but we meet weekly to give them an update and I pass the items along that i see here. Also, please keep the suggestions within reason ;) We can't do one-offs, it would be WAYYY too expensive for the customer and for us. Look forward to hearing from you all!

I have the premium soft top on my JLU and if I am honest the sunrider feature is really great. It feels just as open as when the top is down and it take literally seconds to pop open or close.

It's funny but it just doesn't look like a convertible in that position so I prefer to take it all the way down. but the open air experience as a driver is almost the same.

If you do this, I get that it’s not permanent and is removable and all, but aren’t we just backing ourselves in sideways to basically re-replicating a regular JLU? If I wanted this thing, better just get a JLU and get it already done...

A JLU doesn't have anywhere close to 5ft of storage behind the rear seat. But to each his own, for me a cap that I can take on and off is great, I look at it like hooking up a trailer. I can use to keep gear dry etc... but remove it when it's not needed
