Back on June 30th, I’d emailed Alien to inquire about the Sunshade on 2024’s. And of course, they said it wasn’t compatible with the 2024’s with the airbags. I took a chance and ordered one off Amazon….. just to see what I was up against.

Things that make you go Hmmmm🤔

Inside the box, was an instruction card ….that said “2024 Models - Remove the four bungees near the airbag deployment area (marked in blue) to ensure proper airbag functionality”. Also…in the box….4 of the short straps were strapped together with a note that said “DO NOT USE on 2024 Jeep models - see instruction card for more information” see photos

I wasn’t concerned about that…..

I ended up loosening the windshield bolts for more room to maneauver the bungees (side to side placement). Lots of rubber seals that made it hard to get the bungee in & slid where you need it. Got the front center straps on, got the corner straps on. Started putting the rear center bungess on…and realized…. I have these enormous speakers. I had to use the ‘tool’ to get the bungee around the center rollbar and speaker.
Attempted to attach the rear corners….. No way in hell this was gonna work. The speakers (from front of roll bar to the back of the speakers) is 19”. The longest bungees they give you are 15”…….

Funny…. I would’ve never expected this not to work because of the speakers!!! I’m not about to start taking everything apart just to ‘make it work’.
I mean..I could find longer bungees or straps… I could spend more $ trying to make it work than it costs.

This is probably my 3rd attempt at trying to buy a bikini or sunshade that didn’t work and ended up returning it.

OH well…back to the drawing board!!
NOTE: This is a Mojave X

I read up on this found the same. I'm looking for a safari type top. These folks need to get with the program. The side airbags aren't going away and neither is the Gladiator.

Spiderwebshade for the win. I have them on our 24 Wrangler & 24 Gladiator. They just redesigned the "nubbins" to work with the new 24+ side curtain airbags...

well...you just saved me from installing mine. I have an alien shade waiting in my garage I was gonna try on my 25. You could modify the screws on the sides to accept the bungee without wrapping it all the way around the roll bar.
Guess ill put up the one I purcased for sale.

The Alien shade doesn’t use any screws or rollers…. It’s all bungees wrapped around everything. Even the bungees in the center/rear were too short (or the holes in shade need to be moved inward to use the contour of the speakers.

I have a Mojave X with (what I think is) the Premium sound system. There could be a difference between speakers (OEM vs Premium).

Just got a spiderweb shade for my wife's 24. They fit with no issues
Looking at it now…. I’m seeing the bungees are attached to the shade itself…. Can they be removed and replaced if they get too loose?

I’ve been looking for a youtube install video (or something) to actually see the install.

Do you have the 4door version or the JTkini ?

Are you able to install the hard top & freedom panels while this is still in place?

I had a JTops Sunshade on my 2020 Gladiator - great product so bought one for my wife's 24 JL - so disappointed. Instead of doing what SpiderWebShade did they went to 2" Velcro - to make matters worse they didn't have install instructions or ship all of the items needed for the install.

So I bought two SpiderWebShades one for my new 2025 Gladiator and for my wife's 2024 Wrangler. Install was pretty easy, the reason I opted not to go with SWS at first was the whole drop the windshield part. I didn't drop it on either Jeep just took the 4 bolts out and leaned it forward. Even on a warm day it took some "negotiating" with the bungee cords, but we had them both on in about 40 minutes.

I had to turtle the Jeep back up for a long drive, and I left the SWS installed, not sure I'll leave it on year round or not, as I to think taking them off once a year to clean is a good idea. The SWS also worked with the Bartact grab handles, which the JTops for the Wrangler didn't work with due to the Velcro.

I have a 2024 and had zero issue installing it . I have front and back installed. Front installed without the sides that would block the airbag. I’ll take pictures later today.

which did you install? Without the sides is it not flappy? For the sides I would just thinking on doing some extended screws with a spacer and then modify the bungees to be shorter and hook around the screw with spacer instead of full around the bar.

Not super flappy I installed like directions said too. But installed with sides over the airbag to get it lined up properly then took them off once I had it where I liked it.

Thanks!
Do you have the rear shade Installed? I see another bungee around the speaker close to the one from the front. I figured that’s for the rear shade. For me, it was too buckled on the front shade - rear/center bungees and I didn’t like how to wrapped around the speakers. I probably could’ve made the corners ‘work’ - but….. Just didn’t want to (and be unhappy with it). I didn’t even attempt at installing the rear ….

I'm interested mostly in the front only.

I actually got REAR only. They are the only ones that sell them. My wife and I dont need the shade but our 4 yr old in the backseat does.
