A small ICE would be nice as a generator to turn the unit into a Hybrid. It would be nice to drive an electric that didn’t need a charger every 150 miles and one that could take care of its own charging out on a trail. I don’t want a full electric that relies on charging stations.
Most EVs these days have the same range as your gladiator. Including these Recons. If you're getting far enough out to need to refuel your gladiator on the trail with Jerry cans, then the Recon isn't the vehicle for you.

How big are these? I've seen some pics where they look Renegade sized and others where it looks more like the Commanders

Run one mountain or beach and then talk to me about EV range.

I kinda like it - except for the EV part. With a four banger and a decent price tag - I'd consider one as a commuter while the JT stays in the garage during the week.

I have. I live in the mountains. The Rivians get just as deep into the backcountry as the Jeeps. I take it you haven't ran many EVs on the beach or through the mountains?
The Rivians and other electrics use approximately 6 times the energy when on mountain trails or dunes. Maybe just fine on a mountain road but I’m interested in mountain trails.

I see them in BFE UP pulling campers all the time lol.

People who have never sat in one just know it can't work though

Cool, thanks for that. I hope this sells well but I have doubts. Stellantis could use a win.
They're really hanging everything on J4U, which will go all at once as soon as they decide.. Right now, where to build it, what to call it... Up in the air, and every day they waste is a day they're not cranking out 1100 mudane, boring, fleet volume sales leaders.

I'm talking about unmaintained mountain trails. I see guys elk hunting with their Rivians a solid 50 miles off the nearest road.

There's plenty of range..............you just need to make sure to plot your trip so it's all downhill. Infinite range!! <sarcasm> ;)
