Hooke Road Cowl Light Mount Issues

Before I pull what little hair I have left out, thought I'd pose the question to the experts here. Trying to install the Hooke Road light mounts as pictured. However, the threaded pin in the hinge is not long enough to accommodate the mount. Can not get the torx head nut started on the threads of the hinge pin with the mount in place.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Scrap em? Hooke road is basically a Chinese knock off. Garbage IMO
