Has anyone thought of using this area for air? (that plastic blank - the later Ram trucks have the same thing)
I was wondering about making a plate to fit that and use it for air fittings and perhaps electric (12v) outlets instead of the smaller, lower panel on the right side.

I'd like to have air for many reasons- air mattress, tires, cleanup, whatever.
I don't off-road enough to spend money on a fancy twin turbocharged air compressor capable of 150cfm at 100 psi, if it takes 10 - 15 minutes to air up 4 tires, so be it.
Looking for ideas between the plastic discount store compressors and the higher end things, something that stays put, can be powered through a aux switch even if with another relay, and maybe fits into this area???

AFAIK, it's in all Gladiators and Ram trucks now.
I dunno - it's quite a cool thing, might be worth a trade LOL

I pulled mine out and mounted something to it, definitely would make a great spot for some onboard air fittings gauge etc. but I would definitely recommend maybe making a thicker insert as that was is flimsy and open to the backside. Not a great picture but this is just holding my phone up under the side of the bed near the tailpipe.

Yeah, it would take something stronger than that plastic cover/block piece.
I'll see about checking that for any screw holes like the other side has - a plate could be made of aluminum and screwed in place.

There are provisions for screws in the right box wall -

I looked at the more recent reviews which seem to be a mixed bag. Seems like Napa might of changed suppliers in the past couple years...

My question is more about using that space for air and electric, and if it's possible to even put the compressor in that spot.

Lol I know, I just seen someone posted a link to the Napa compressor so I figured I'd share whag I bought few years ago

Anyway... I have only recently seen this change in the gladiators beds... So it's itntersing to me. What's the purpose and what it can be used for... 🤔

:like: :like:

all is good - just afraid it might turn into a debate on compressors. I didn't even know NAPA sold one.

Anyway, I'd love to find some way to mount something in there, maybe make a surround that goes in there and holds a small compressor, and a hose connector. I guess I has wondered about how some showers have a shelf embedded in the wall. A compressor could be mounted in there, even if it stuck out an inch........... and beside it, have 12v outlet and connector for hose.
Just trying to come up with ideas. I plan on running power back there for 12v outlets and maybe even to power the ATV winch I have on my car hauler. It would be a good place to make connections, or maybe use the right side for connection for my trailer winch, and the 12v outlet and air on the left -

Brain storming and right now, it's a bit foggy with all the meds, thumb pain and the electrodes doing their thing while making my face tingly.
I never was "normal" - now even less than normal.
If I take this thing camping anywhere, I need places to recharge all of the electronics I carry with me. Not quite the Six million dollar man, but I saw the bills for the pre-op testing and lab work - I think it'll break medicare!

I've seen where several people have gone with this one. It's available other places, and under other brands.
I don't have one myself, so no personal reviews. It is probably what I'll get, someday.
I've been using that compressor for the past several years with a Morrflate 4-hose setup. It will take my 38's from 10 to 28 psi in under 6 minutes. It almost takes longer to setup and teardown.

Yes, I am working on several different inserts at the moment. It is tight to try and fit the compressor itself. The twin for sure is too big, I may still be able to make and ARB brushless single work. But, I just released my above the spare tire mount to work with the inserts that I have been designing. You can mount ARB / ViAir, and maybe some of the other brands to the plate and run the filters and couplers to the inserts. For now, I have the bumper inserts for air couplers.

I'm only looking for ways to use that left side area in the bed.
I have backup lights and the legally required reflectors in the bumper so that's out.

I guess so far, no one has used that left side bed area for anything and has no ideas......

I've found sand, and tons of dirt on my spare, so avoid that area for anything I don't want messed up. I'd probably have to shield anything in the left side of the bed, too, for that matter..

No takers on that left bed wall area.
