I think the RHO is gonna 'struggle' towing because of its soft suspension - it's unlikely the 540HP/521TQ is gonna be the shortcoming, even if it's 6 cylinders 😄

I'd buy a TRX - but because of V8 noises, not power.

I'm not in the market for either though 🤷‍♂️

Oh I know the specs of a RHO but it still a v6 🤷‍♂️. Ive heard a lot of horror stories on thar v6. Towing with a v8 and v6 yeah ill stick to a v8 they are not the same, The power band is a lot different.

It's a straight six, actually. But I have heard of some issues - mostly around the plastic thermostat ball valve housing. But I haven't looked into it deeply.

I'd have to disagree, but that's fine. The power band is a lot different in favor of the turbo V6's. Far more power down low than a comparable NA V8.

Don't get me wrong, if I was buying a Ram tomorrow I'd buy the Hemi over the Hurricane, but its for sound and familiarity, not power.

I borrowed an earlier model Ecoboost Ford F150 (3.5L V6, twin turbo) for a 1,500 mile round trip and it pulled better than any gas V8 truck I've ever driven. I think the only thing I've been in that pulled better was 3/4 ton diesels.

Some of the turbo motors do come up 'short' or 'comparable' to the V8's, but its only the smaller ones like the 2.7 Turbo Max, and to a lesser extent the 2.7 Ecoboost. The larger turbo motors like the big Ecoboost and the Hurricane are animals.

Yeah the RHO was having issues running normal pump gas when they came out. It needs a little more time out maybe the 1-2 more years to get the bugs out?

Eh I had a eco boost for a work truck 💩. Very hard to replace a N/A v8.

For sure - I'm never a fan of getting a drivetrain right out the gate. Give it a little time to smooth the intro problems out.

It's a straight 6 not a v6, and the torque comes on lower than most modern v8s. The 5.7L hemi doesn't hit 400ftlbs to the wheels until 4k rpms on the dynos I've seen. The rho is a shade under 450ftlbs to the wheels by 2500 rpm. Much better for towing, especially at altitude.
