Guys I want to provide a review of the pre-production NXTGEN Cross Terrain Jeep Magnetic Handles for the rear of the Gladiator. They sent me a set to try on my 2022 Gladiator and I installed and the fit and function is top notch.

I was able to install them with no issues and they provide the added assistance needed to negotiate into the back seat of my Gladiator riding on 37” Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T’s (no lift). Before installing them watching others get into the back seat was sometimes comical (I only wish they would have been available when I got the ones for the front). Quick story, I had to pick up my 83 year old father and 82 year old uncle from the auto repair shop one day. My father had almost no issues getting in the front passenger seat using the NXTGEN steps (I only have the fronts) and handles but my poor uncle trying to get into the back seat without the steps and handles was another story but did give me and my dad some good laughs. LOL.

Photos 1 and 4 below are of the pre-production handle installed on the rear drivers side. As you can see the fit and finish is very good. I also tried them in the front (seconds and third photos). As you can see from the photos they fit very well. I didn't take any photos of them rotated up where the magnet hold them to the Jeep if you want them out of the way. With them held to the Jeep with the magnet you can still open and close the door with no issues and not worry about bumming your head on them.

I emailed NXTGEN with my review and suggested the following changes/updates:
Make the ear of the tab (that the screw goes thru) larger to fill up the area within the plastic molding while also making the ear just a little longer so the part that the handle strap goes thru doesn’t ride on the plastic.

I’m no engineer (but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express once) but my suggestion I think in would maintain, if not, strengthen the handle more.

Overall, I would give these handles for the rear 5 stars. They work well to assist people getting into the back seat while also providing something to hang on to when the JEEP is bouncing down the trail.

If you think you would like to have this product please reply below because I bet NXTGEN will be monitoring this post. Or better yet, reach out to them at: nxtgenautomotive.com under the contact tab showing your interest in purchasing them.

Feel free to ask any questions about their Magnetic Handles, Drop-Down Steps for factory rock slider rails, or the Custom Blind Spot Mirrors. I'm running each of them and have had zero issues with them and would definitely purchase each of them again if I get another Gladiator!

@Gvsukids there is magnet inside the handle under the rubber grip. It’s hidden and can’t be seen but it is strong enough to attach to roolbar and will stay there even with doors removed.

For those who speed read and/or have poor reading comprehension like me, It wasn’t till I saw the picture it made sense. The magnet in the handle holds the hanging handle up out of the way when not in use.

I think these are a good idea. My last gladiator had handles on it when I bought it, but they swung around and made noise, so I took them off.
I will definitely be looking into getting these. Thank you for the review, I would have never known about these if I didn’t see this post…

I think the pictures may have been a better representation if they had been taken from the same vantage point in the down and up position instead of from underneath when up or stuck to the roll bar. Just my thoughts. But cool idea.

I bought these as soon as they became available. I've seen other handles and always thought they were missing something. I think NXTGEN nailed it with these. They are rigid in the handle, as one would expect a handle to be, they have a black nylon strap, and the magnet in the handle was the feature that sold me. I don't care to be knocked in the head (or even tapped) every time I get in or out, so I put them up or take them down as desired. I approve!

Let us know how it holds up after sometimes. The design seems to put a lot of leverage on the weak spring nuts and tiny screws. I can imagine it probably flex quite a bit right?

Good point. As these are underneath, they won't hold up to someone hanging on them.

I really like this company. I have these handles, two pairs of blind spot mirrors, and the removable rail steps for my Gladiator. The products are great, and the one issue I had they resolved quickly, efficiently, and cheerfully. I highly recommend them.

@RCott77 yes you are correct concerning I could have used different photos for better representation. The photos I used were the same ones I used when I sent my review back to NXTGEN and didn't even think about it when posting here. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I took a quick photo tonight of both handles on the passenger side in the up position (utilizing the magnet to hold them up) to the roll bar. Photo below.

@Vtur I installed the handles for the front first week or two in October and have had zero issues with them. They don't have any flex in the handle. The handle is very stout and the way the brackets attach to the roll bar helps to minimize the amount of leverage on the screws that hold them in place. If you haven't already, go to their website and check them out. They have lots of photos and a video or two and I think you will come to the same conclusion I did concerning the strength and durability of the handles.

@Gvsukids I agree with you that they won't hold up to someone hanging on them but then again they are handles to assist someone getting into their Jeep and not for doing pull-ups. Check them out. If you don't like them no sweat. If you do, then your welcome.
