Just got a quote back from a local dealer (Maine). Requested quotes for custom Sport S and Overland models, because no one seems to have any idea when manual transmission models will hit the lots.

The lease quotes I got back were both 3 years, and I'd requested quotes for 12K/year. Dealer also noted they are charging no doc fees.

Here's a quick breakdown on the spec price, dealer price and residual for the two models:

Sport S | $45,305 | $43,706 (-3.5%) | $33,978.75 (-25%)
Overland | $47,265 | $45,200 (-4.4%) | $32,140.20 (-32%)

Per the original advertisements, the original residual for the Sport models was supposed to be 11% on a 2 year lease and 17% on a 3 year, so this is definitely a drop. It's close enough that it simply could be the difference between a 10K and 12K lease, however.

No special Gladiator markup on the vehicle, though, which is good.

Yes. The leasing company needs stable number to base everything off of. The buy price is different per a person. As we all know. The buy price can be above or below the MSRP.

Any way of knowing what the money factor would be on the lease info @sog wrote above? Did they give you payment info for each of those leases @sog?

If you have the payment info you should be able to get close by playing with a loan calculator to back into it.

Didn't provide the number, but playing with an online calculator best guess is a MF of 0.0021 (5.04%).

Note that they haven't taken any credit info; this is a generic quote.

I'm not sure how you were able to guess a money factor if you didn't have the monthly payment.

With msrp, selling price, months, residual, you can either calculate pmts with an MF, or MF with the pmts, but I don't know how you could guess either without the other.

"For quick reference, if the money factor you're offered starts with a decimal followed by three zeros, (0.0009) you're getting a very low lease rate. If the decimal point is followed by two zeroes and a 25 (0.0025) or less, you're getting an average rate. If the money factor is a decimal followed by two zeroes and anything above 35 (0.0035), you're getting an interest rate that would be at least 8.4 percent APR, which could be considered a high interest rate."

I saw today that Gladiator is projected to be at 90% in 24 months. So you're saying they told you 70% at 36 months? That's a pretty drastic drop in a year. Regardless, the lease payments should be L O W on a Gladiator so don't let a dealership rob you!

I think you meant something like, Jeep came out with a news flash 90% residual pricing on a 24 month lease for $143 for a Base Sport, then changed their mind, or bait and switched the public. Still being worth 90% at 24 months would be amazing for a normal car/truck. I'm totally speculating here, but i bet you only get stuff like that with Ford GT type stuff that eventually is worth more than you paid for it. (Don't really know if it dips right away or not, just guessing)
