The title says it all. I have my trailer hooked up and the blind spot monitor thinks that there is a vehicle in the blind spot. My guess is that the radar is aimed wrong but wanted to run it by the internet before I went out to the truck with a crow bar and a hammer to adjust the tail lights.

Take you truck to the dealership and have the system re-calibrated under warranty.

That was my plan but we are leaving on vacation this evening so I will either take it to a dealership in FL or just wait till we get back home. I was hoping that someone else had an easy fix so that I didn't have to stare at that warning light for 8 hours tomorrow.

You can't turn it off? My wife's lexus let's her turn it off. I'd probably just unplug the doors if it's an AC type of ride. That would drive me crazy.

I can turn it off but I don’t want to. You are supposed to be able to tow a trailer with it on. Turning it off only treats a symptom and not the problem.

To treat the problem you would have to take it to a dealership. The bandaid would be to turn it off and go on your trip.

I know that and that is what I told the dealership I would do this morning when I talked to them. BUT like I said I wanted to check and see if anyone else had the problem and if there was an easy fix.

I could be wrong . . . it's happened before, but, you may be seeking a solution that has no problem ? AS my only reference, my 2016 WK2 with that same Option/Package - as soon as you hook up to your hitch the camera SEE's that and reacts as only a "dumb Computer can" !
It tells your breaking system that as soon as you put the vehicle in REVERSE your gonna have the vehicle Break (hard) in reaction to what it sees as a "near collision" ! My WK2 has a Disable Button on the dash AND it can also be disabled vis the uConnect Menu ! However like with the ESS, you need to re-deactivate it upon shutting off and turning on the motor !
Not sure what you think you need to SEE otherwise ? These "dumb Computers can't do Every-little- thing we'd like or assume they should ! ? Please let us know it there IS a "FIX" for what your JT is /isn't doing properly - I'm surely interested .

After reading your post I paid close attention while towing my boat yesterday and the blind spot monitor never picked it up even while turning. I can confirm that it is working.

Can’t say I’m surprised...the system in my Father-in-Law’s Ram thinks my DRIVEWAY is a threat and hits the brakes when I try to back into it.
