Don’t know what anyone has noticed this before or not but.....

During my drive from Nashville,Tn back to Charleston,SC yesterday I had a little bit of time to notice things. And there it was, right in front of me for a very long time, a little Jeep Gladiator shown in the tire pressure screen, complete with the 2 hood tie downs for when you fold the windshield down.

I think it's actually a Rubicon hood.

just curious as to why they have not made locking hood clamps an option/standard.....I do not like that anyone can have access to the engine compartment...

the same reason why they won’t put in upgraded parts into the rest your rig... ie PSC big bore steering box, aluminum tie rods, king shocks, lift of your choice, Dana 60’s or bigger axles... etc etc...

It’s because the aftermarket money game is strong and not all people want to change that part on their vehicles.

On the inside top of the center console storage (the arm-rest for driver/passenger), the panel can be pulled off using the the molded plastic "bump". I use it as a place to keep small, important, docs that I don't want in plain view (insurance, etc). You can then just push it back in to re-clip it. Pretty slick. I like it. My JK had an actual dedicated clip up there for your vehicle docs like ownership and insurance that the small plastic folder you got from the dealership fit exactly into. Same theory, as in it kept it out of immediate view when the console was opened...

Hey @JAY I think that @glady8or has a great point. Do you know why Jeep does not make it so the hoods can be locked shut? Know who at Jeep can comment on this? Thanks much.

And yes I know. Go doorless and anyone could reach inside release an inside lock.

Anyone else here have a good suggestion for this?

I saw that if the FOB is not close to the Jeep and someone opens the hood the alarm goes off, blinking lights and horn.

Why would Jay give a rip about this Question?

If this was a issue of lets say 18% of Jeep owners FCA would of addressed the issue. My guess is that this is a issue for less than say 2% of Jeep owners. As far as FCA is concerned a non issue. For the less than 2% the aftermarket has locks for them.

Maybe there would be two bad guys--one for each battery.
LOL Love it. Sound like something my son might say. (that's a compliment, by the way)
