Both Dennis dillon and Peterson ram dodge in Caldwell idaho, and nampa idaho (30 min away from Boise Idaho ), beat the competition anywhere on the west coast with advertised 13-13.5% off msrp RUBICONs on in stock and special orders. We bought from there and it was worth the $59 one way Alaska air flight. They pick u up from the airport and from arrival to driving back home it takes about 1hr to process sales and financing. Their catch is you must finance with them and must keep the loan active for 6 months... but you can put as large as an initial payment when the first payment is due. This really knocks down the interest. Plus I can tell you from experience that it’s a gentlewoman/gentleman’s agreement to keep the loan active For 6 months. There is absolutely no contract, and we bluntly asked them this before even agreeing to buy.

this is normal without incentives that jeep is offering now. I’m not sure what they would do with current incentives.

I would like to see the bill of sale on this deal...
MSRP was just over $39K.

Jeep Gladiator 10% off MSRP a good deal on rubicon? lease-sni

$34549.88 - $2000 Jeep Rebate = $32549.88 / $39000 = 17%

I also leased it at an amazing 76% RV over 36 months.

There are dealers in CA that were discounting Rubicon JTs by $9000 in March. USAA service gets a kick back from the dealer so if you deal direct you could save a bit more. I did a check on price with CarSaver (they have displays at some Walmarts). The discount on a JTR was around $7000 and you got a free lifetime drive train warranty to boot with no mileage limitations with Car Saver

Craig Benner at Koons Jeep in Tysons VA just outside of DC will do 8% off invoice no questions asked. I called and mentioned the forum and he said "ok here's the deal, 8% off invoice". Couldn't be easier. FYI there is a $799 dealer processing fee. Just got my 8% off a factory ordered Rubicon.

$799 dealer processing fee. Exactly what are they processing? I thought the $499 they charge in AZ was crazy. FYI, the last two Jeeps I bought, made the best deal and then told them I refused to pay any of the extras they charge for (tinted windows, paint protector, fabric protector, etc) or the Processing/Doc fee. Both times when I walked out the door saying no deal they came back and agreed to drop all of those extra fees to make the sale. In the end I got the deal I demanded and paid no processing/doc fee and I got the window tint, paint protector and fabric protector for free. This was in good times and both times within the last 2 days of the month.

I would think in these lean times when dealers have to make sales that YOU can get the same deal. If not find another dealer. They are all hungry right now.

The processing fee is for processing the deal/contract (which is between you and the financing institution, not you and the dealer). If you've taken the time to review a contract, it is quite complex and lengthy. Do you demand to not pay processing fees for airlines or convenience fees for movie tickets too?

While $799 is certainly high, I can understand why many services charge processing fees.

The "contract" was developed long ago and all they have to do is insert the names and other information. It takes all of 5 min, it's not unique to any customer. I used to be an F&I guy for a big multi-brand dealership so I know how all these extras work and how much profit they bring in for little or no work.

So again, the dealer is going to squeeze every penny out of your that he can. Your job as an informed buyer is to get the best deal that you can. Part of that is refusing to pay outrageous fees.

As for the airlines, you are stuck with their fees but if they charged you $499 or $799 processing fees no one would fly. At least with vehicle dealers, there are multiple ones that want your business.

I've finananced many a vehicles and never seen a processing fee by the bank or financial institution. The fees that I've beat are the ones the dealers refer to as Doc or Processing fees, the fees they charge to put your name and other info into a spread sheet that populates area on a pre-made document(s). If a bank or financial institution wanted to charge me a processing fee, I'd find another bank. I usually put 25 to 50% down on a vehicle and have excellent credit, my options for financing are limitless.

They charge service/processing fees because somewhere along the line they realized that consumers can be conned into paying them and will. The way to beat that game is to make the best deal and then walk out if they want to charge you ridiculous fees. I've done it twice now and I will do it again on my next purchase from a dealer.

This is why I only talk to dealers about OUT THE DOOR prices. I don't give damn about your discounts and deals, when you will kill them with fees. The only number I want to hear is OTD, period. It always works.

No offense but you are still paying the ridiculous fees. Negotiate for your best deal, never think the 1st or 2nd offer is the best they can do, that is how the game works. Then when you get the deal you want, tell them you are not going to pay the fees. Walk out, they'll either chase you or call you within a day. Either way you want to save money or not. It works for me every time, or you can pay the fees if you like. Don't matter to me either way. Like I said, I used to be an F&I Manager at a large multi line dealer so I know how the game works. If you play the game by the dealers rules, you will most always loose. And that's about all I am going to say about that.

I don't care how they choose to work the numbers. Bigger discount from MSRP with fees, or less discount without fees. Doesn't matter. I don't play by their rules, and that's the point. For the Gladiator I didn't visit a dealer or even talk to anyone on the phone. I requested final, out the door, sign and drive deals from several dealers by email. Picked the best fit, went in, and left. Took half an hour.

This isn't worth argueing about, Yes you do play by their rules, They give you what they say is their best price and you accept that. They call people like you in the auto business a "lay down". You left your best deal on the table because you were too lazy or lacked the skill or ability to do an actual down and dirty negotiation. Dealers love people like you because you are an easy sell and they make the most money from you. That's my final word on this to you because you really don't have a clue.

LOL. Time is money. I spent hours bringing down my last two Jeeps by about $5k. This time they offered $10k off to start with. And they all knew I would take one deal without a second chance at a deal. Dealers are bidding for business right now.

Cowboy seems like hed be a real douche to interact with. Im sure the dealers were stoked to have your business.

Also, the fees scale with the cost of the product, thats why movie ticket convenience fees are 2 bucks, airlines 20 bucks and cars 400+ bucks.
