I have made up my mind on tires.
Wheels should be here this week.

I really like what I see and read about the Toyo Open Country RT's.
Going with 35x12.50R17.

Anyone run these have any negatives about them?

I see a semi-aggressive tread pattern, a 45,000 mile guarantee, D wall instead of E.

The weight is up there a touch, but I don't feel that will affect much other than MPG, but then again I didn't buy the Gladiator to be a fuel miser.

TIA

Well if you dont care about an aggressive thread and you want less weight as well cause a heavy tire will cost you more money gas wise but also your power,And i was looking around and the 35x12.5 Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 only weighs 64 pounds wich is really nothing and same with the mickey thompson mtz p3's,and in my opinion the thread looks pretty cool to me,but yeah hopefully i helped in a way :D

One of the mods on the Wrangler forums, jadmt, had them and liked them. He also had the Toyo Open Country AT2. I saw there are some video reviews of them, just do a google search.

I just don't trust "video reviews" any more. Too many people getting free product to say nice things about said free product rather than give an honest opinion.

I have read and viewed reviews for several tires. Funny thing is, no one ever gives a negative about any part of the tires.
That tells me they have a bias for some reason or another.
I have never used a product that didn't have some down side to it.

So I am trying to get honest opinions about a specific tire, I see the pro's, but I want to know the con's also.

Check out Tire Rack, there's negative reviews about tires on there.

If you're trying to save weight, and want to save a noticeable amount of money, get a set of Kumho Road Venture M/T KL71's in 35x12.50r17 E-rated. My dad has been running those same tires (same size) on his 2008 Cummins 2500 for over 8 years. He really likes them. They ride great, very smooth, VERY quiet for a mud tire, great tread wear, high-quality. If they were junk, I wouldn't have put them on my brand new Rubicon. I got mine from @Discount Tire here on the forum. :like:
