Salmon, ID. Salmon River Motors/Quality Motors. Same location and owners, between the two they cover all major marques. Been buying trucks and SUV's from the owner for over 20 years, going back to when he was a salesman in Boise. Good, honest people.
They had only a few Gladiators on site, but when I tell them what I want, they'll find it for me.

I have never heard of them & that surprised me. I contacted basically every jeep dealer in the state before I bought mine. But they wouldn't of come up on the vehicle finder on jeep.com most likely with the limited inventory.

Yeah, I expect a lot of Jeep buyers would do well to check them out. I have bought 28 vehicles from this dealer over the years, most of them GM trucks for my business, but plenty of SUV's and a few sedans. Always walked away feeling good about the deal.
I tell them what I'm looking for in basic vehicle and options; they go to work looking for one and then call me back with choices and options. Only had to order one from the factory, and that was our Wrangler in 2017.
For this Gladiator, we had some very specific requirements. We only found 2, one in Denver and the one we bought was in Montana somewhere. Once I select the vehicle, these guys do a dealer trade and then I can deal with them.

Salmon is a 7 hour drive from where I live in Nevada, but they usually deliver my vehicles. In this case, we thought it would be fun to take a couple of days and drive the Gladiator home.

Hell I am in Idaho & thats still a 4+ hour drive for me. Thats really pretty country up there.

I did my search starting with the jeep build locator thing & looking for trucks with the cold weather & max tow & just kept bouncing zip codes to everyplace within 8 or so hours drive of me until I finally bought one.

LOL, yeah, Salmon is pretty remote due to the central mountains and wilderness area. We live in NE Nevada. Weather was nice when we drove up so we routed ourselves through Sun Valley, over Galena summit then through Stanley Basin, Challis and Salmon. Extra hour of driving but some of the most spectacular scenery in the US (and I've seen most of the US!) Unfortunately, it was raining when we left for home in the new Gladiator, but a fun drive all the same.

I played around with the 'build your own' on the Jeep website, but I leave the searching to the guys at Salmon River Motors. They work hard and always find what I want and give me plenty of options and choices. I try to help them out by being as specific as I can about what I'll accept and what is a non-starter.

I wanted a tow package and the color. Wife insisted on most of the other options. My color choice really narrowed the available selections. We had to have the dealer add the lift kit, wheels and tires, along with the winch.

If you bought in SW Idaho (Surrounding areas of Boise) you probably paid too much. The dealers seem to work off the notion you are at their mercy due to the limited number of dealerships in the local area. Our family has purchased a number of vehicles including a Gladiator, Viper, Hellcat, Rubicon TJU, Ram Rebel, Ram 2500, Chrysler 300 and even a Harley - and the one thing in common is we didn't buy a single one of them in the Boise area. I've tried to buy locally, but my experiences have demonstrated time and again local Boise dealers don't discount very much or they shaft you on the trade-in. When you negotiate there's a lot of fancy talk and numbers, but they always end up way over-priced. Recently, when we went to buy a JT, a local dealer even tried to use the sales tax savings (created by a trade-in) as their "Relative allowance." What this means, if your trade was worth 28,000 but you'd save 1500 in sales tax savings they would offer you 26,500 for your trade and write on the offer sheet 28,000 as the "Relative Allowance" for your trade. I ask myself, "Are people really that stupid?" And I guess the answer is yes, because the dealerships continue to do business that way. By the way, we ended up buying our JT from a really good Dealership in Ontario, OR. We received $3,400 more in trade and got a little more than 10% off MSRP on the JT. That was close to a $5000 difference in savings OVER the Boise dealer "discounts" simply by driving 45 minutes out of Idaho.

SW Idaho here.. None of the Surrounding dealerships had anything I cared for, but I paid a little over 10k less then the window sticker at Dennis Dillon in Caldwell. So I think I did pretty good on the price.

Given that your local & in what I would guess is a Red JT which matches what I also drive. Maybe I have seen you at lowes?

Ooops...I meant shopping at dealers in SW Idaho. As far as Lowes, I can't recall going there in quite a while so not sure it was me...but I've noticed lots of (red) JTs in our area.
