I have just started to notice the distance for using the remote functions on my key FOB are extremely bad. You literally have to be standing right beside the Jeep to have them work. As and example after parking tonight on the street and walking across the road to the sidewalk the remote would not work. The battery was replaced in both FOBs and since it is happening with both FOBs, it makes me believe the issue is with the Jeep. I have heard some say the distance for using the remote is pathetic, so I looked it up in the manual. I'm not getting anything even close.

"The key fob allows you to lock or unlock the doors and tailgate from distances up to approximately 66 ft (20 m). The key fob does not need to be pointed at the vehicle to activate the system."

Page 18
REMOTE STARTING SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED
This system uses the key fob to start the engine conveniently from outside the vehicle while still maintaining security. The system has a range of 328 ft (100 m).
Anybody else having this issue and/or how did you resolve it... Cheers!

Hey wondering if you ended up taking to the dealer or finding out what the issue is? Just started having the same issue, if I'm more than 4 feet away, absolutely 0 response to what I do with the fob - up close it still systematically works though... Happening with both fobs for me too.

I'll have to try the lock/unlock when I get it back but can confirm that the remote start works at about 225' without issues - I'm in the house pointing it through our double-pane windows with screens out to the truck under my lean-to that far away.
Lock and unlock - I bet mine would make that distance of 66'

If I get my truck back from the dealer shop tomorrow, I'll give it a try. I know I've done it while approaching it in the parking lot as my wife always walks faster than I do - so I hit the unlock so she can hop in before I get there.

I went to the dealer and of course, there was no issue with their testing. Then the service advisor asked if I lived by a specific parking garage. Well, my condo is directly connected to that garage and exactly where I park. Apparently, the dealer has had other customers who park in the garage and on neighbouring streets experiencing the same issue. I then started to notice the remote works perfectly everywhere else with even an extended range further that the manual states. We then concluded the issue must be a signal that must be jamming the remote. Apparently the remote works on signal/bandwidth that sits between 2.4GHz and 5GHz that is used by WiFi. Thus there must be some rogue WiFi router that is malfunctioning in the area and jamming Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge car remotes.
Some days it's so bad I can be in the Jeep with keys and the push button start doesn't recognize the key is inside the cab and the Jeep will not start. I learned real quick, when that happens, just push the starter with the triangle end of the FOB. Cheers!
